WOW ... It's been a long time since I've seen Ron Paul pumped up and angry during a speech. This is when I think he's at his best. The best Ron Paul is the "I'M MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE" Ron Paul.

Great speech by RP....I especially liked his comments about the use of force. This may be the first time I have witnessed a prominent politician expound upon the "axiom of non aggression" and get applause.:ncaabbs:

I loved this statement by RP...and I am paraphrasing....
"If you are not allowed to steal from you neighbor...you should not be able to send the government over to him and do it".....Word.04-bow

He always does well there. He has an entire movement to himself and a good number of them show up. Right now his words seem to work well with the younger audience but not with older conservatives and that's exactly why he can't win.

Its been a while since I've had time to be immersed in politics, but I keep hearing about all these keynote speakers at CPAC that generate strong responses yet they never have any clout in the actual elections. Is CPAC not as powerful as its portrayed, or what's the deal?

CPAC is informative, but what mainly it's a party weekend. The majority of people attending are under 30, (with the occasional 40-50 year old guy hanging around to check out the women 03-shhhh).

And you guys call this man crazy. Most of you need to look in the mirror. 05-stirthepot

By the way, the title of this thread is offensive.

Probably because he is in his comfort zone there. He knows it's the one place where he feels he won't be marginalized or have people call him crazy. Everyone is always more confident and outspoken in their comfort zone.

One thing's for sure, he and his sons followers are some of the rudest sumbitches at CPAC.

You marginalize and discredit endlessly and that's what you get.

Every time Sean Hannity dissed Ron Paul on Faux I got out my checkbook, and walked a few more neighborhoods. It only motivates me to do more.

I really hope Rand is able to carry on with his father's ideas and is able to win the Presidency if his father doesn't do it.

Reminds me of the scene in Animal House where Bluto tries to rally his fellow frat boys, gives a speech and trots out of the room. Problem is, no one followed him

As long as the R's control the House and/or Senate, there would be a lot less damage done by a gridlocked Obama than another Neo-con like Mittens.

RE: I came - nomad2u2001 - 02-15-2011 06:47 PM

I would actually prefer if Obama remains than to have one party rule in Washington.

I agree. Obama in the white house plus republican control of house and senate would suit me just fine. Particularly since I don't see any of the leading republicans being great presidential timber.

Without the party apperatus you are screwed. This guy is a sideshow clown as far as the GOP is concerned. He could thread the needle as an Independent but that would most likelt result in the inevitable Obama 2nd term. Put your checkbook away you will need it to pay for my Social Security 03-old
