What are some of your schools game day traditions? Which ones do you like best?

- Trojans1andAll - 08-05-2004 11:19 PM

I'll try to describe it but you really have to see it and hear it to appreciate it.

My favorite Troy game day tradition is when The Sound of the South marches from Long Hall down University to the Stadium. When they reach the stadium half the band takes the field while the other half stays at the top of the end zone seats. The two halves use a fanfare as a call and answer to each other before they move down through the stands to the field. Then they play the Trojan Victory March, which kicks alot of ******

You really do have to see/hear it. Here is a <a href='http://www.palmswestpress.com/Images/TSU_Stadium_09_20_03/TSU_Stadium_09_20_03.htm' target='_blank'>link</a> to a page with the sounds from pre-game at the bottom.

GO TROJANS!

When you play C-USA teams, I'd say your gameday traditions are all the same -- getting beat. :D

We just started tailgating 2 years ago and there has always been the Band Marching down the Campus Roads on the way to the Stadium on Gameday. 04-cheers

Cane Gang,

I guess no one in Troy has picked that one up yet...just ask UAB and Marshall (future member).

What would you say our game day tradition is? We get liquered up before the game and after depending on the outcome.

I've been to several Cajun games where they had a live band going for the tailgaters. I believe it was only for homecoming. If we want to get attendance up I think we should have that live band for every home game. Make it a party in Lafayette and people will come.

Daym, us cajuns must have royally screwed up that tradition when we slapped UAB around 2 seasons ago for a 34-0 win.

Man... I figured my comment would've stirred up a lot more than that. :D Pretty boring Friday...

Anyways, I was just kiddin'. I'm happy to root for any non-BCS school. We're all in the same boat.

GO TROJANS!

Whoa, that is really cool. It is similar to what the Badger band does prior to the start of a Badger game at Camp Randall. One of these days I would love to visit Movie Gallery just to see that; heck, I would even stay for the football game. LOL!!!

Go Troy!!!
