Just wanted to drop by and say good luck this season...with the exception of the Marshall game of course! 04-cheers
It was a really good game last year and I expect a hard fought battle this Saturday. Perhaps we could start playing each other OOC every other year or something like that. I know a lot of Marshall fans would love to see the Herd play Troy more often. There is a possibility, once we move to CUSA, we could play each other in the New Orleans Bowl. I think that would be a good bowl game to watch.
Again, have a good season and enjoy your first year in the Sunbelt Conference!

Welcome to the board!

Yeah, I know many of your fans say it was a fluke, but I don't care, the Marshall game in Troy last year was the best football game I've watched in my life. Not just because Troy won but because it was hard fought on both sides and it was practically a toss up until Derrick Ansley's last INT. To have one great football game, you must have two great teams. I don't think any other team in the country could have beaten Troy or Marshall that night. Either team could've said "Oklahoma? LSU? Bring 'em on!"

I must also mention that someone once told me that Marshall's travelling fans were the class act of all Marshall fans. This definitely proved to be true. Everyone I spoke to from fans to cheerleaders were very nice and knew the game of football pretty well.

I think you are right, a Troy/Marshall New Orleans Bowl would be pretty darn exciting. So would Troy/Southern Miss. Troy/UA'sB would be good simply because we hate each other. But right now the N.O. Bowl is Sun Belt #1 vs. CUSA #5 right? Marshall will be alot closer to the top of CUSA than that, IMO.

Thanks for the kind words. I hope you have a good run in the MAC this year. The GMAC Bowl is played just a few minutes from my house. Just don't be too surprised when the Trojans give the Herd more than they bargained for. :D

GO TROJANS!
