This was a good article though it seems to lean towards him being the last of a dying breed of loyal G-5’ers.

Unfortunately, NIL and current transfer rules have destroyed the concept of 4-year players staying in G5.

Even college kickers think they are too good for G5. See Miami's Lou Groza award-winning kicker transferring to Alabama...

Yeah it sucks but it's not just the G5 getting hit. Even the P5 gets hit, like the big time DL who played four years at Louisville then just now transfers to Oklahoma. So OU will get all the credit when he makes the NFL and UL is basically just chop liver after all that development they put into him...times have sure changed.

It's likely only going to get worse before it gets better. Collectives are only going to continue to grow in size at the P5 schools. I know in basketball they said they expect the median NIL spend to double next season compared to this year's spend. I assume football will roughly be the same.

Not a bad draft coming for the MAC. Expect Mitchell to go mid-1st and WMU's Kneeland in the 2nd.

Anyone else in first two days???

Congrats to Mitchell. The Eagles filled a need at 22 they thought they would have to trade up for, but a run on offensive players had him fall a few slots lower than expected.

Seemed like they drafted QB's, OL to protect the QB's, then Edge
to sack the QB's. A number of great picks were moved down because of the way the draft panned out.5

RE: NFL Draft 2024 (Thamel): Inside the meteoric rise of Quinyon Mitchell
There are only a small number of drafted and un-drafted spots each year, with a massive amount of players interested in being in one of those spots. And, there are generally fewer than 50 spots per collegiate team annually (to play - be on tape). All that said, MAC football is D1, great football. At some point, more kids will realize this if their end goal is the NFL.

Through 58 and counting picks, only 2 G5 players thus far. Both MAC.

WMU does a really good job recruiting talent and speed. So many good players have gone through your program and been drafted. While some of them transferred away they still were offered and recruited by WMU.
