RE: Spring Game Recaps
Our new coach made the spring game entertaining as well as giving a glimps of the 2024 edition of the Miners. He brought in around 30 recruits on official visits and junior day visits plus had a lot of former Miners as honorary coaches to honor them. He also had some halftime games for the old Miners and the 3k fans enjoyed the energy of this new staff.

The orange vs blue teams were drafted rather than 1’s vs 2’s. Close game decided on the final play, a 33 yard td pass.

Looks like the QB battle is between Cade McConnell, jr who started several games last year due to injuries, and Skylar Locklear, rs soph, who followed coach from Austin Peay.

Since the game was UTEP vs UTEP, no way to tell how good or bad this team will be but the offense will be night and day different. Lots of speed, spread out wr and slots. Can’t wait until the opener at Nebraska. Actually I’d rather they open at home vs Slippery Rock to get off to a good start.

RE: Spring Game Recaps
Not really spring game related but spring activity related nonetheless, the all important Liberty Football Dog Patch Olympics just took place.

From what I could tell the following events took place including Coach Chadwell participating in the belly flop contest. Trying to verify if the judges awarded him a ten for the effort.

-Diving belly flop
-Basketball dunk
-Softball home run
-Donut eating contest
-Three point contest

Offensively, they’ll struggle to create separation at receiver, struggle to pass the ball to the receivers, struggle to block for the quarterback, struggle to accurately throw the football and struggle to find holes in the running game.

Our coach is a dead man walking. He’s won three games in consecutive seasons. We have regressed in every game since he took over. The AD that hired him is gone. The president that hired him is gone. His buyout dropped at the beginning of 24

Saying he is on the hot seat is the understatement of the century. The man has the hottest seat in America. He would have to win 7 games to survive and I’m sorry but there is a real possibility this team goes winless next season. Maybe they’ll prove me wrong, but I’m not optimistic.

That’s pretty much how CNM is with us on the MBB side. His contract is over after next season and our AD has pretty much said there needs to be a major turn around next season. I would be looking to jump ship if I were either of them.
