National Pitcher Of the Week
Thought this deserved a thread of its own. Keep in mind this kid is a freshman.

Carson Fluno had a no-hitter going into the 8th inning when the batter hit a ground ball up the middle. Our 2nd baseman had it played perfectly just behind 2nd base, but the ball hit the base and jumped over his head. Infield hit! Fluno was pulled for a reliever at that point, but Coach would have kept him in for the chance at a no-hitter. This was the day after Chase Morgan held Marshall to 1 hit. Diamond sports are crazy!

Absolutely…they were both lights out sat & sun. Was some really great ball this whole series! Like many others, I am just wanting to see our bats come back. Hopefully these mid-week games will get that started

Enjoy him now before an SEC team gives him a bunch of money to go play there next season.

I was expecting that response, but thought it would be much sooner, lol.
Anything is possible, but with Gunner Leger as our new pitching coach, and the bond he has developed with him and all the other pitchers, it’s a safe bet that it would be very hard to give that up, for the uncertainty of the next pitching coach he would get.

So we aren't a bad team despite not getting many wins? We definitely seem to come up short in a lot of close games. Maybe we can start making our own luck and get over the top in some of those, in the near future.

Dude…I (and I think most of our fans) was very impressed with your teams performance. They held our bats down the whole series, which was due to great pitching. I also liked how they didn’t seem very rattled playing in a pretty big venue, with a fired up crowd.

Marshall pitching was lights out! The Herd is heading in the right direction. Along with ULM and stAte.

We've been averaging around 1500 in our new digs. Crowds shouldn't bother them much. But that's good to hear that you guys see improvement.

Awesome. I don't care if we start winning championships in this conference in baseball. Not that I don't want to, I just grasp how monumental a task that is in the Sun Belt. But I would like to, sooner than later, make some appearances in the top half and get that RPI down in the 100-125 level, consistently, for the benefit of the conference. And of course win enough games to keep the fans happy and attending. If it becomes more than that, so be it, but that will do for me.

If we can be competitive in the top 40% of the league, I would be OK with that..
