Zero, because we don't have our bball coaches leave for other jobs. We poach the blue bloods, see Roy Allen Williams. 07-coffee3

You won't be poaching any more like that if you remain in the ACC.

Sure we will, but whatever helps you sleep at night. Media money is puny compared to the real coffers. That ain’t changing

The SEC and B1G payouts for 2024 would be half or more of UNC’s $120m athletic budget. Are you saying that you guys are hiding athletics revenues, or are you hitting that you’re secretly using some of that hefty endowment in inappropriate ways?

Surely you are aware of private donations?

"Calipari and Arkansas neared an agreement on the terms for his arrival, which would represent a colossal shakeup in college basketball," Charania and Tucker write. "Calipari owned the era of the one-and-done with a revolving door of NBA stars in Lexington, but now another program had piqued his interest at the right place and right time. Sources close to Calipari say he still regrets turning down the UCLA job in 2019. That was the time to bolt, he now admits privately. But Kentucky ponied up a 10-year, $86 million contract to keep him in Lexington, and the Bruins couldn’t match."

I wonder how many times this had to happen before UCLA started talking to the B1G? I wonder how many times it will need to happen to UNC before they go from "maybe" to "get us into the SEC ASAP".

This had nothing to do with UCLA moving to the Big Ten. The AD was under pressure to not make another mistake after the hiring of Steve Alford. UCLA was talking to Calipari, Rick Barnes, Jamie Dixon, and a few others. They kept getting turned down and the whole process was embarrassing. There was one guy that wanted the job and that was Mick Cronin. The Bruins were never going to pay Calipari the kind of money he would want. UCLA fans and alumni were happy with the hiring of Cronin. He is getting paid $4.1 million per season and that puts him in the top 15 among head coaches in college basketball. They don't need to pay a good head coach $8 million or more per season.
