RE: Women's NCAA title game: Iowa vs South Carolina
Nice thread!
We have one poster criticize USC compared to last year's squad even though they are 37-0. I guess the SEC is trash?

The rest of the thread is talking about the Men's title game and their start time.

This forum has seriously gone down hill.

CC had 18 points in the first quarter but was mostly kept in check in the 2nd.

South Carolina leads. This is a good sign for them.

Unless Iowa makes some successful adjustments at half, this one looks over to me despite the close score.

Iowa controlled the half but is down 3 anyway, sheesh.

SC just too much size.

Iowa looks like team having played 4 games in 8 days, 1 fewer day than South Carolina. With the last 2 games much harder than what South Carolina had.

South Carolina now up 65-55. They have outscored Iowa by 21 since Iowa went up 11 early.

Wonder if we ever see both events merge into one location on one weekend.

Better TV ratings on Monday.

9:20 pm tip off is trash ratings regardless. Have it start at like 8pm when humans watch TV.

Nielsen studies have shown 9:20pm to 9:30pm eastern time is the peak of tv ratings.

Yeah, but you don’t need to tune in that early in the ball game. 8:30 would be fine. Ends before 11, even with an OT session or two. Not watching the men’s final. Didn’t watch last year either.

Would then start at 5:30pm in California and the West Coast.

I highly doubt one fewer day of rest at this stage means that much. Playing LSU and UConn vs. Oregon State and NC State is a different story. It also helps that South Carolina has more depth than Iowa. They have freshmen I've never heard of hitting threes.

Personal Fouls - full game
UConn 18
Iowa 9

Personal Fouls - 7:18 to go 4th Quarter
SC 16
Iowa 7

The refs calls favor Iowa, but SC is too powerful to completely mute without making it too obvious.

That's the SEC's 12th title, the most of any conference

Congrats to South Carolina on an undefeated season and to Dawn Staley.

I think Staley might have said earlier that when she recruits she tells players that if you want to win MVP don't come here but if you want to win a national championship come here.

South Carolina is really, really good. 39-0 speaks for itself. Iowa looked like a middle of the road B1G team but with one homegrown transcendent player.

RE: Women's NCAA title game: Iowa vs South Carolina
I've watched more women's basketball this year than any season prior. It did not disappoint.

It's both sad and disappointing to see so many current and former women's players diminish or throw shade against Clark. She's brought more attention and spotlight to the game than any previous player. She will end up creating so many more financial opportunities for professional and college players alike. You'd think there'd be more collective gratitude from within the industry.
