Fox forming another post season basketball tourney to exclude mid majors.
https://www.foxsports.com/stories/colleg...ball-crown

When I asked the question Why did all of the D1 basketball conferences allow the NIT tourney to remove the auto bids for the mid major reqular season champs, the answer I got is they had to do it because otherwise they would form another tourney with Fox .

Well guess what? they went ahead and formed another tourney with Fox anyway.

So neither tourney has any auto bids for CUSA even though Cusa won 2 of the 3 post season tourneys in 2023.

This is another example of making teams not in one of the chosen conferences not relevent.

They have effectively ruined college sports completly in a very short few years.

A lot of mouths to feed in the P5. Even the bottom feeders need to generate that NIL money.

Honestly... who really cares? The CBI, the CIT, the "College Basketball Crown"?

The NIT is already forgettable to all but the programs that win it.

The NIT has gotten so unimportant that I didn't even know who played or won it this year. It's gotten to a CIT importance.
