RE: Orientation for "New Mbrs" to da' Big 12
As a booster of a newby I now understand that except for Cincinnati, Houston, Orlando and Fort Worth the rest of B12 schools are located in backwater towns. There is no reason to visit them except for a football or basketball game. No great Symphony Orchestra’s. No great restaurant, no great sites, unless you are into The Branch Devidians or Magnolia Store.

Apparently, you are into low places.

I suggest you try moving up when in the Nati. Try Sotto, Boca, any Jeff Ruby Steakhouse (Jeff Ruby's Downtown, The Precinct, Carlo and Johnny), or one of many restaurants in OTR area. OTR is convenient to professional Football, Baseball and Soccer Stadiums and a short Uber from Nippert and The Shoe.

But if you come to town and need to feel at home, we do have several Texas Roadhouses (we do not consider those as upscale dining).

So half the conference is where you stop to fill up on gas and grab some quick breakfast burritos and the other half is enjoying the fine arts and big city lights....the truck stop conference doesn't seem to fit the B12 anymore.

there has to be a new way we identify ourselves.

How about “The Occasional Truckstop Between the Big Cities” Conference?

The "truck stop conference" NEVER fit the B12... most of the schools are off the main highway with no truck stops.

How about the Big football conference with a couple of schools in big cities where fans would rather watch the NFL than college ball. (a little wordy, but I think it works)
