Does college football follow suit
Even though the NFLPA disapproved of the change.

The NFL owners approved the ban on hip drop tackles and changed to the XFL kickoff rules.

The kickoff change wouldn’t bother me. I’ll withhold judgment on the hip-drop tackle ban until I see how consistently NFL officials apply it (I don’t have high hopes).

I have no idea what a hip drop tackle is. Bring back the head slap and the clothesline

How about bringing back the full body block.

The "hip drop tackle" controversy is so stupid. The goal is to get the guy on the ground. Funny how the "hip drop tackle" wasn't a thing before that $hit a$$ targeting bull$hit.

Exactly. How do you coach legal tackling?

I dunno...we've had several changes made to make the game safer.
Horse collar tackle's made famous by Dallas defensive back Roy Williams.
The way they're going...we're gonna be watching robots play in the future...kinda like in that one video game I used to be pretty good at.

Let’s face the sport should probably be outlawed along with both boxing and MMA. If you really are that worried about these injuries. Have them sign a waiver and send the gladiators to the wolves

The NFL is pretty boring. I hope college football doesn't adapt it. If spring football executives were smart they'd market spring football as real football, "Come watch real tacking by real men". Something like that.

I can’t disagree enough. The nfl product is so much better than college where it’s the same 4 teams every year. Yes the Chiefs have won the last two super bowls, but the reigns don’t last as long. Usually 4-5 years. The Patriots were the exceptions. You hire a good coach and GM and you can win in the nfl. And those guys won’t leave for a better job either

You're kidding, right? The NFL coaching carousel has the same names on it as they jump from team-to-team every 2-4 years.

Hip drop is what took out Tony Pollard. It's impossible to judge what constitutes a hip drop tackle in real time, and it's pretty hard to do with replay, too.

I can't disagree with your disagreement. Only college football I watch is the Tigers. The NFL and football in general are boring sports to me. The NFL seems a bit scripted as well. Didn't watch the superbowl but the knew the team with the most corporate backing would win. With college at least I have the Tigers.
