but 12-18 Chicago State (the lowest seeded team in the tournament) just beat 21-12 UC-San Diego (the #2 seed). Again stupidity and not knowing "time and score" made the difference. A UC-San Diego player got a rebound, open underneath, with a couple of seconds left. Instead of laying it in for the tie, he tried to get out to the 3 point line and, of course, missed the shot.

Too be honest, Chicago State definitely was the more athletic team. UC-San Diego played a more traditional offense with, at least, a couple of good 3 point shooters. Who would be a better match-up for us. Who knows? I just want to get to play a second game and beating Fairfield will be a chore.

Watched the end again. San Diego player could have just laid it in or would have been fouled. Well, the CBI may not have the best teams, but it does appear they have the dumbest players.

I believe that 3 of Chicago State's wins were non-DI. They are the only D-I independent so obviously they played a lot of road games and had a pretty tough schedule. I just hope we get to play them, in what should be an interesting game.
