At least he's not this narcissist... Doubt he will come close to getting a coach of this caliber again

Speaking of, let's hire him

IMO, STF is his own kind of narcissist - one who loves himself while smooching his own posterior.

RE: Give STF Credit
Beyond his DEI credentials, STF's resume can now include work in his additional capacity of overseeing campus recreation. The words "NIU Recreation Center" have now been added prominently on the side of the building parallel to Annie Glidden Road. Apparently he couldn't find a name sponsor for that facility either.

RE: Give STF Credit
This is just my take of the whole situation. Lisa F is probably a nice person but may not know a football/basketball from a coconut. STF is very good at painting a good picture of things in athletics (not to mention all his DEI awards). Again just my perspective but as long as LF is president STF will be the AD. Someone important-with influence- needs to get in her ear and tell her what things are really like in athletics and on campus and change is needed. So until some bigs things happen-we-Huskie Nation- are just going to have to suck it up. Speaking for myself I see my interest and enthusiasm slowing slipping away as each mediocre to bad year comes and goes. Let me finish by saying I hope I’m wrong in all I said. That somehow enrollment at the University starts to grow. That the sport programs I’m mostly interested in turn things around and has sustained success. Right now I feel like hope is all we have. Go Huskies!!

Agree with this 100%. I strongly believe that we need new leadership at the very top of the university. With us having lost roughly 40% of our enrollment, I have no idea how Lisa Freeman has retained her position. We have spent enormous energy and resources on DEI at the expense of the overall university. I also feel the quality of the education, and reputation, of NIU has dropped dramatically over the past 10 to 15 years. Change can NOT come soon enough, it is already far overdue.

It was crazy the difference between Baker/Freeman regime from Peters. Literally night and day in a bad way.

There was a sense of pride at NIU with Peters at the helm. That has changed so much now.

Hope is not a strategy

My strategy is laid out in the majority of the post- new leadership-change on several fronts. Seems real simple to me.

I think you may be too rough on poor old STF. I do give him credit……..credit for destroying NIU athletics and ruining the relationship with its supporters.

This is unbelievably spot on. I used to be such a passionate alum, had season tickets, went to bowl games and traveled to big non-conference games. I now have no interest in going back to DeKalb. STF killed the fan base, the athletic department and in my opinion came to NIU and thought he could replicate what Barry Alvarez did at Wisconsin. When I think specifically about the football program, I honestly can't come up with one improvement that occurred under the leadership of STF!

And the thing is, even if they know they’ve destroyed the fan base, they just do not care. Their goal is to bleed everyone and everything for as much money as possible. They are trying to milk the supporters for every buck they have, while reducing the experience and quality of the product. This is NOT Wisconsin or Alabama! I have had season tickets for many years. It will feel funny not going to the games this year, but I will not succumb to their strangulation games.

He should be given credit for being both ugly AND stupid. With a wardrobe to match his internal attributes.

Hard to do when you’re that wealthy…
