Agreed. That portion of Arkansas (Fayetteville, Eureka Springs, Bentonville, Bella Vista) is as pretty as it comes. Sportsman's paradise for sure.

I take mountain biking and bike packing trips there and to Womble all the time.

Awesome area

I'm sure Cal will spend a lot of time hiking, mountain biking, deer hunting, and trout fishing in The Natural State.

The great thing about remote mountain cabins is the women will never run into each other.

I have no idea. Honestly, I thought he had passed away a few years back.

If you find yourself in the metro area and want to do some gravel biking, hit me up. I bike out here all of the time!

That is a good advertisement as to the quality of life there. You get fired in a very ugly, public way; but you decide to continue living there.

I don't ride bikes, just a vehicle. And Bentonville frowns upon cars. Only bikers and hikers. It's insane.

That's some serious mountain biking. I was on campus last fall and saw tons of little electric scooters that the kids ride to class. Not sure I could ride my bike up those hills.

My mother grew up in foothills of ozarks in northern Ark in a teeny German Catholic settlement. She was tenth of 11 kids. Growing up, I visited there a lot. The old folks, like my grandmother, spoke only German.

As a family, we camped on the rivers all around there for fun and fly fishing—Bull Shoals specifically. The White river was ice cold. We had a rope swing out over it but if you fell in you lost your breath. The temp was so shocking lol.

Good times lol

Yep. And I do it on a hardtail. Getting older though might need a full suspension soon.

I also take trips to pisgah national forest near Asheville - absolutely no cell service up there - and chatanooga for a quick weekend trip sometimes (Volkswagen plant trails and many others).

But Arky is my favorite. So many trails. Two of the Walton brothers are huge mountain bikers and they fund trails all over the state. The trials near hot springs now have year long maintenance thanks to them.

My grandfather grew up on the White River in a little town called DeVall's Bluff in Arkansas. His family were Bohemian (Czechoslovakian) immigrants who moved to Arkansas from Indiana after the natural gas boom in Indiana died out. They were glass blowers who made glass lamps that used natural gas before moving to Devalls Bluff and working on local farms and in the button factory.

Guys auditioning for "Visit Arkansas" commercials. I notice those commercials never show video from south or east of Little Rock.

Maybe to outdoorsmen. But Arkinsaw ain't no blue blood like Trey and DJ signed with. Of course, money talks - but the prestige hit has to sting a bit.
