Agree with the first part...disagree with the second part. If a "cinderella" slips into the Sweet 16, I think they're a decent draw just because of the underdog angle.
Stats say otherwise

Okay, I'll play along. Post those stats.

From last year... Overall Men's Final Four viewers were down, but SDSU v FAU was up.

Only because of degenerate gamblers skewing the statistics...

Yes! I love seeing that moron get egg on his face. He hated Calipari when he was here at Memphis. Magically he wants him to father his children when Cal went to Kentucky. Dykes is a blithering idiot

Conference tourneys are just another money grab. It's always seemed ridiculous to give the auto bid to a weekend winner and not the regular season champion. But they need a reason to have the tournament.

South Florida couldn't even get an at-large but FAU could?

If the B1G and SEC both left the ncaa tournament would it even miss it? SEC hasn’t won a title in 12 years and the B1G hasn’t won since the flintstones in 2000

It’ll be easier for them to win national championships when the 12 team football playoff is SEC top 6 & big 10 top 6 and the basketball tournament consists of about 40-44 teams that are the Big 10 and SEC. Where the rest of us wind up playing a postseason tournament, who knows. ESPN+ (can they afford it after paying massively for CFB playoff?), amazon prime, Apple TV?

The public isn’t going to go for a 40 team tournament with only two conferences in basketball. Now football might be a different story

Maybe they do it like NBA playoffs without the matchups being a series. Those 2 leagues will do everything they can to choke off the $$ for the rest of college sports. And the TV networks will be compliant.
