This is true, and I would think the payout for an appearance would also go up but I haven't read about that being the case yet. Previously the access bowl was worth roughly $4 million.

So is that an average or a flat rate. If just a flat rate then I prefer the average. CUSA schools shouldn't make as much as us for being in the worst G5 conference.

My understanding is it a set amount per G5 program regardless of affiliation. There may be more money tied to conference finish or CFP participation. But the baseline is the same.

Does this mean SEC & BIG is tied in as part of FBS as it is now at least to the end of this contract? Well you know...unless they want to break it.

G5's get a flat payout now. We LOST money for what will hopefully be a G5 spot in the CFP, cause otherwise we got screwed over a good bit.
