I'll be more worried if assistant coaches start leaving like Stansbury. I think anyone on the roster besides David Jones is easily replaceable.

It's sad that college sports has become a business decision for most of these kids. That's what makes it less enjoyable to watch any longer.

RE: BOH: Jonathan Pierre
The smoke and fog is clearing and we are getting bits of the reality that is Penny's program. Words straight from the mouth of Jonathan...( via Daily Memphian)

“I’d been waiting for an opportunity all season and I got one at Temple, and I was able to showcase what I can do in that short amount of time,” Pierre said. “... And then it was consistently 12 minutes every game. So I’m like, ‘Alright, you can build upon that now.’ And when Jayden Hardaway and a couple other dudes came back from injury, (it didn’t last.)

“It was a very inconsistent year.”

Despite it not working out for Pierre with Memphis, he said there is a lot he can take away from his first season at the D-I level.

Pierre alluded to a variety of factors throughout the 2023-24 campaign that made the situation with the Tigers “chaotic,” though he declined to go into much detail.

“I was absolutely talented enough to play on this level and easily could’ve played on this level,” Pierre said. “The level wasn’t the issue — obviously, I feel like it was the situation. … The situation was very chaotic, and there were a lot of cancers going on, and I kinda let that change my personality when I saw everything that was going on. I was changing my character and who I am due to the situation, and I can’t do that anymore.”

As of Sunday night, Pierre had not shared his decision with Tigers coach Penny Hardaway or other members of the coaching staff but said he planned to do so after his exit meeting, which is scheduled for sometime Monday or Tuesday.

Just read this as well. The mentioning of his PT dropping when others got healthy backs up what we were seeing.
