what markets does each SEC team bring?
Inspired by the G5 additions post. Here's how I see it: ("?" denote me not being sure if they bring that market or not)

UGA/Georgia: Atlanta, Savannah, Macon & Columbus

AU/Auburn: Columbus, Montgomery, Birmingham, Mobile

UA/'Bama: Tuscaloosa, Birmingham, Huntsville, Mobile?, Montgomery?

UF/Florida: Jacksonville, Tampa, Orlando, Pensacola, West Palm Beach, Ft. Myers

UT: Knoxville, Chattanooga, Nashville, some of Memphis?

TAMU: DFW, Houston, San Antonio

LSU: Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Shreveport?, Houston

UK/Kentucky: Lexington, Louisville, Cincinnati?

U of SC/South Carolina: Columbia, Charleston, Charlotte?

Mizzou: KC, St. Louis

Ole Miss: Memphis, Jackson

Mississippi State: Jackson, Biloxi

Arkansas: Little Rock, Fayetteville, DFW

UTx: Austin, DFW, San Antonio, Houston, El Paso?

OU/Oklahoma: OKC, Tulsa, DFW

Vandy: Nashville

RE: what markets does each SEC team bring?
Rather than start a new thread, I will use yours, DawgNBama.

I wonder if the SEC/ACC/ESPN and certain individual schools can cooperate and compromise with negotiations that could involve multiple sports. It could be complicated and deemed unfeasible, but it could resolve some association and scheduling issues. Here are a few thoughts:

Move FSU and Clemson to the SEC for football-only. Maybe a couple of others could do the same later. Their other sports remain in the ACC. FSU and Clemson would receive a TBD revenue increase.

Allow Vanderbilt, and perhaps another, to move to the ACC for football-only. The rest of the sports predominantly remain in the SEC. Vandy would receive a modified amount in fb distribution revenue.

Do some transitions with some Olympic style sports that the SEC does not sponsor. For example, move South Carolina and Kentucky men's soccer from the SunBelt into the ACC whereby 14 schools sponsor the sport. Men's soccer is not much of a thing in the SEC west.

Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, and Auburn have SELC Lacrosse teams. So do Georgia Tech and Florida State. The ACC's men's lacrosse teams are currently Virginia, Notre Dame, Duke, Syracuse, and North Carolina. While club status is indicated for SELC teams, there could be upgrades and consolidations with the ACC teams.

What about wresting? The ACC's wrestling teams are NCSU, VPI, UNC, Pitt, UVA, and Duke. Missouri's wrestling team returned to the Big12 as an affiliate member after being in the Mid-American Conference briefly. Missouri may be too far away from the ACC for practicality. Remember Missouri added baseball when they joined the SEC.

There are women's sports in the ACC and the SEC that could consolidate, whereby each conference alone, needs a few addition members for higher profile competition.

Conference sponsorships in Olympic-style sports get enhanced through coop efforts.

Notre Dame can stay in the ACC but agree to a 4-4 or 5-3 football arrangement with the ACC and the SEC.

Maybe I am rambling unrealistic speculation. On the other hand, cost effective measures could be considered external to focusing just on football and somewhat basketball. Some of the minor sports could improve or flourish.

Sec has always been all in in all sponsored sports. Forcing a current member out of one sport or any is unprecedented. Full memberships and full shares from day one are how the SEC operates. Now, if a school offered to enter at a reduced share for a time period, that might be considered, but seem contrary to the standard operating practices.

MU doesn't have as much presence in KC as you'd think. KU has a plurality of the market share in KC. STL is pretty much 100% MU.
