NCAA automatic qualifiers thread
since several of the basketball conference tournaments started today and will likely end before the B12 tourney even starts....

I thought it might be interesting to have a tread to comment on any potential upsets to the automatic qualifer process and potential impact to the bubble teams and/or the seeding.

I think one year recently a team with a losing record won their tournament to upset the apple cart.

If you see or read anything interesting Post it in this thread (please)

Atlantic Sun - Stetson upsets Austin Peay, but it didn't give the conf another team in.

Stetson is going dancing for the first time in school history. The 2-seed Hatters defeated Austin Peay 94-91 on Sunday in the final of Atlantic Sun Tournament to claim the automatic bid. Eastern Kentucky won the regular season.

Missouri Valley - Drake upsets Top seed Indiana State for the AQ. Indiana State was the regular season champ.

Big South - Longwood upsets their way to the AQ. Longwood, located it Farmwood, Virginia, beat UNC Asheville 85-59. In three consecutive days, the Lancers beat the Nos. 4, 1 and2 seeds in the conference tournament.

Ohio Valley - Regular season champs Morehead State was the first team to secure a spot in the NCAA Tournament

Long Beach State University just won the Big West Conference Tournament and ended the year with a 21-14 record but prior to that coach Dan Monson was told that after the season ended he would be Persona Non Grata.

He coached the team to the Championship so I guess he will coach them in the NCAA Tournament.

Talk about strange!

4th seed Oregon won the Pac12 tournament, and were not projected to be invited, so that should knock somebody off the invite list

RE: NCAA automatic qualifiers thread
From ESPN..

There are no bids left to be stolen. That's the good news after the most chaotic Selection Saturday in the 30-year history of Bracketology. The bad news, at least for bubble teams, is that the bid thieves got their licks in like never before. Three good teams -- St. John's, Virginia and Seton Hall -- spent most of Saturday in the bracket. None remains. And their top chasers -- also good teams such as Indiana State, Pitt and Providence -- never had a chance to move up. The blame (or credit?) goes to NC State, New Mexico, Oregon and Temple. Yes, Temple. And, oh, three of the four projected No. 1 seeds also were taken down. Defending champion UConn now stands alone as the top overall seed, and if what we just witnessed is any indication, the dominating Huskies might be entering an NCAA tournament like no other.
