100% agree. Last year he had Jemison to draw attention from him, but he still was prone to foul. I feel like this year he thought he was going to be big man on campus, but it seems as if the more Yax and even Coleman stepped up, JD just shutdown (except for the fouls). If he'd played up to his potential, Yax and Coleman could elevate even more.
JD is good at what he’s good at, and terrible at what he’s terrible at. He has to be a bottom 5th percentile player in terms of foul rate.
He is still terrible at getting out of double teams or passing out of a trap/pressure, like awfully bad.
That being said, he’s a really good back to the basket traditional post player. He is just very limited

Some made it sound like we simply had to win tonight and Sunday to get the 4 seed(which is what y’all convinced me of coming into tonight), I’m seeing folks say we need losses from others on top of that. So, yes, folks were right to be outraged by the Rice and Wichita state performances.
I mean, if I’m reading the tiebreakers correctly, it’s first head to head and then best winning percentage against the top team. So if that’s right, if we win Sunday, we get the four seed no matter what, as that will give SMU one more loss than us, and we went 1-1 against Memphis, but we beat USF and they didn’t.
And I don’t think anyone was NOT pissed about Rice and Wichita State lol. But bringing it back up is crying over spilt milk. It’s done, move on to Sunday.
A Charlotte loss on Saturday along with a Memphis win on Saturday looks like it could knock UAB down to 5th place due to tiebreakers.
UAB can finish 4th with a win over SMU on Sunday as long as either Charlotte wins or Memphis loses on Saturday
I think that's correct but please let me know if that's right?
As long as we beat SMU we are the 4 seed. We're the only team in the league who has beaten USF.

It looks like a 3 way tie with UAB 1-2, Charlotte 1-1 and Memphis 2-1 gets broken this way. So USF does not come into play? Is that accurate?

1. Enjoyed the announcers reading off the entire roster of the 1988 UAB Blazers including walkons.
2. Number 33, per the photo in the linked SI article, has gotten enormously fatter since earlier this season. How does anyone get fatter during the season?!?
3. Even if Temple threw this game (this was not point shaving, it was point shoveling), Eric Gaines was amazing.
4. Barry Dunning still exists, still does not understand defense.
5. Nine games. Win nine straight games.
These are my observations.

I think you are right with both Memphis and UAB wins and Charlotte loss. All possible. Then we would lose the head to head vs Charlotte. Puts us vs Charlotte in 4vs5 if we win round 2. Not terrible.

I cannot fine one fan that is not upset about losing to Rice and WSU. There is just no point in beating a dead horse and trashing our own programs.

Agree. I look at Temple, Charlotte and Wichita as programs with a great histories like us but needing some good times. Charlotte former coach quit on this years team and they responded. I hope they can sustain it. Attendance is much improved. USF making history this year. FAU repeating their success. AAC is tough to dominate. I stand ready to support my team this March. Need a good crowd at Bartow Sunday at 2pm!
