So two rivalries (WMU-CMU and Kent-Akron) are still stuck in the midweek. I thought they were rotating in one rivalry during those frames?

Absolutely horrible schedule, Kent State gets their rival on a cold Tuesday night in November where they'll get a few thousand people to show up instead of a far bigger crowd on a Saturday where you can package several events together. It's the one game a year that people will go to watch two poor programs slug it out and draw out of town folks willing to travel to do it, but not on a Tuesday night. They don't get a Saturday home game after October 12th and their last 4 games are in November, 2 Wednesday games followed by 2 Tuesday night game.

The Toledo/BGSU rivalry game is scheduled for Saturday this year. The CMU/WMU game could be selected for the Saturday rotation next season.

What I mean is that I thought there were 4 'protected' MAC rivalries, and just 1 would get the midweek November #MACtion slot per season. Unless things changed with the pod creations.

Here we have two rivalries on Saturdays (UT-BG and Ohio-MU) and two on midweek (WMU-CMU and Kent-Akron).

UMass vs. Buffalo rivalry game on September 14th.


Also fun that we're playing 5 MAC games next season already.

I didn’t realize only one rivalry game was going to be protected on a Saturday each year…that’s too bad because I’m really looking forward to a sold out UT/BG game this year. Others should too.

It’s really weird not seeing Toledo play Western Michigan.

There is two. Ohio at Miami on Saturday, October 19.

NIU still plays every opponent of what was formerly known as the MAC West division, except for EMU.

Also, we have 5 Saturday home games for the first time in ages.

We have home games on Saturday, Oct 26 and Saturday, Nov 30.

AFAIU, the deal -- two of the four rivalries midweek, two on a Saturday, one rotating out and one rotating in -- starts next year, so the rotation would start between 2024 and 2025.

Just get off Black Friday with garbage crowds. Nobody wants to go to those games

Move game 1 up a week earlier

Miami probably the preseason favorite right? Not necessarily a good thing though, not a ton of MAC preseason picks end up winning it all and we haven’t had a repeat champ since 2011-12 NIU. Gonna really hinge on Gabbert’s health.

Yeah, going on Saturday after thanksgiving up against THE Game, some big SEC rivalry games, the SEC-ACC cross-over rivalry games is not that much better.

I'd say so, especially with Toledo losing their best player (Finn) and some other key players.

I'd say the top 3 for the title are Miami, Ohio, and Toledo. I don't see anyone else in the MAC winning it but you never know with this crazy conference.
