UMASS is back as a full member starting 2025-26.

Ugh !!!!

A truly horrible, horrible entry.

Why not Western Kentucky, MTSU, or a good Missouri Valley football team.

Delaware all sports with them would be great. UMass basketball would win the league every 3 seasons. Only kind of stinks in fb. UConn fb only and you have pod 5.

MBB NET: 85th
WBB NET: 289th (3-26) They schedule tough enough to really bring up the bottom of the league in non con. A 3 win MAC team would be bottom 5 in the nation.

They must be finding it impossible to schedule football games so they need a guaranteed 8 game infusion. That's a big win for UMass but what do the existing members get? Is there a win - win in this scenario???

It's okay for me. Kind of thought this could happen. I'd love to get Marshall back. OU & UT both hate them.

Delaware is already joining Conference USA.

Gonna be a big drain on travel dollars for the rest of the MAC in the non-revenue sports, so a little surprised the presidents approved this at his point when so many schools are struggling with budgets. Unless there is something not yet known that will add a revenue boost.

Appears the A10 is not doing well financially either. There's more money in the MAC....wow.

Done deal. Another team to ass-kick like UB was for first 10 years.

Maybe there will be conversation about a UCONN as a 14th FB only member and looking to the A-10 for basketball expansion. Grab 3 teams out of the A-10 for a 16 team basketball conference?

Dayton, Duquesne, and Loyola-Chicago?

When they played at Gillette it was fine for UT to fly out of Toledo Express. It's a long bus ride to Amherst from Boston. Similar to Boone... But in basketball the are legit so it's worth a Crack at a top 125 to top 75 team every season.

Looks like UMass doesn't have volleyball, which I thought used to be a MAC mandatory sport.

They didn't fly into Boston when they played at UMass last year. I believe they flew into Springfield, which is like 35-40 minutes from UMass.

UMass has four combined FBS wins in the last five seasons...yikes.

Looks like Akron vs UMass for that coveted one FBS win every season. Watch out Akron, UMass is looking to take your spot at the bottom!

Hopefully they got ESPN to guarantee that adding UMass wouldn't take $$ and dilute our TV revenue shares by adding a 13th team. Everyone xcept maybe Buffalo will have to have to fly their sports programs to play in Amherst so gonna need the money for increased travel costs.

This helps UMASS, no one else though.

UMASS (all sports) will be fine !!
Give it a chance, and with the right 14th member, could definitely lift the stature of the conference !!
