Good note that Coach Cullop substituted freely giving starters rest.

Kent loses to Ohio.

OU up by as many as 10 in Q4, and 6 under 2 minutes, tried very hard to lose it as they turned it over multiple times and allowed Kent a couple 2nd chance buckets. But, after Kent tied it, they inexplicably fouled OU away from the basket with 10 seconds left, allowing OU to hit the winning FTs.

BG survives at Akron 74-68 and WMU beats EMU.

BG & Buffalo tied for 4th. WMU and NIU tied for 6th and Ohio moves into sole possession of 8th.

Actually Cullop played the starters way into the 4th quarter. Why? With a huge lead they need a rest and we need to give the younger players substantial playing time because we are going to need them next season.

Six subs had at least 9 minutes, no starter topped 30. Seldom used Curry hit a big three in the first half when 5 or 6 subs played. Bench played 75 minutes, more than Sammi, Nan and Khera combined.

There's a short post-game interview with Box on the Miami website, where he also (in careful words) seemed to accuse UT of flopping. Said something like ... now, I have to choose my words carefully, but we couldn't make a post move without somebody falling down..."

A couple other notes from the game:

Wiard passed Kaayla McIntire to move into 9th place all-time in scoring, with 1584 points
Q got her 700th rebound in the game. Also, she now has 208 steals, passing Heather Smith for 5th place all-time
Sammi has 832 rebounds, which is 7th all-time and 1 shy of Latoja Harris for 6th. Also in the previous game, she passed Jane Roman to move into 31st all-time in scoring.

Yeah, that's called good post defense, anticipating the offensive player's move. He was beside himself during the game about the offensive fouls.

Cook has become a master at that. The one clear “flop” I recall didn’t get a call. The fact that she’s drawn charges game-after-game against different teams with different refs says to me “Sour grapes, Box.”
