RE: OU tonight
Last post by screwball, what was that shot that ND took against the Rockets to tie the game and go into OT ? Their final game defense FG pct. not good, but I wonder at least during MAC play, what UT's defensive FG pct is in the second half of those games ? I would be willing to bet it's been around 46 %, much better. When the going gets tough, the team plays tougher. Being a hockey fan, I love this team's physical mentality.

RE: OU tonight
We do play tougher in the 2nd half it seems... but wasn't the case vs. App State. The good teams also hang around and get stops themselves.
You can't keep letting bench guys go for 20. App had 55 bench points.
Ohio started 9 of 12 from 3. A coast to coast 40% against is due. We would literally be the worst shooting percentage D to ever make the dance... 349th/351. Any 3 seed can probably score 100 on us outside of like Iowa State. They'd likely put 75 on us though.
Overall the team is fun, but when do you learn switching ball screens and putting Sonny on a center is a poor gameplan? Our lateral hedging couldn't be worse defensively.

Old with a bad memory, but wasn't that the game where the ball got pinned between the rim and backboard? ND got the ball with less than 3 seconds and drilled a three to tie, and we end up losing in OT?

Those mismatches resulting from our switching ball screens and hedging that continue to happen game in and game out drive me crazy watching. I'm sure the coaching staff has a rhyme or reason for this strategy, but it really puts a strain on our interior defense! Giving up 77ppg. also drives me crazy! Other than that, can't complain much about this year's team as they have exceeded expectations up until this point!
