RE: Eric Gaines Appreciation
Eric shoots the ball pretty well when he's in rhythm and it's a catch and shoot within the offense. He shoots it pretty well off the drive in the mid range. He's also pretty good at drawing fouls when he's under control, but the refs usually won't bail him out on a bad shot. It's when he's trying to shake and bake and do the Jelly stepback, or wildly going to the hole with no plan that his shooting percentage goes below the Mendoza line.

As far as his passing, he'll still have a couple each game where you go WTH and another couple that luckily get where they were supposed to go. But he will also have 2-3 really amazing dimes that no one else on the floor could have done. He's had a few SICK ones in this stretch of conference games.

I like Eric. I hope he comes back with 10 pounds of muscle and balls out in Green and Gold next year.

He is looking physically bigger and stronger this season. Just noticed in these last few games.

You sure about that?

He looks exactly the same physically as last year.

6’2” & 165 on both this years and last years roster.

That’s been one of our biggest gripes. He didn’t work on adding muscle or size in the off-season.

It’s one of the biggest things holding him back IMO. He would get absolutely abused by the smallest players in the nba.

He is, some just has to gripe about it. We could put too much muscle on him then he turns to Tyler Madison or Lewis Sullivan.

Stockton (Gaines) ,and Malone (Yax) type play we're dancing.

Glad I'm not the only one noticing. It was an observation on my part. I have no idea where they get the size/weight for the roster. I have also have no facts that he is taller or heavier. I just noticed that he looked bigger to me.

Some still thinks this is 90s era basketball. Most of today's players are thin. I'd let the NBA put size on him.

Gaines is tiny. My wife who doesn’t watch basketball saw one of our games said who is that he looks like a little kid compared to everyone else.

His size is 100% a factor in why his shooting percentages are so low for a guard, bc he has extreme Trouble finishing through contact, bc of how skinny he is… it’s pretty obvious

RE: Eric Gaines Appreciation
There’s a reason every time he drives into traffic that he tries a step back short jumper off one foot or a one handed tear drop, because he’s not physically able to finish a layup through contact.

That’s why he’s had a wild shot tendency.

It’s just that as of late, he takes the open looks outside or goes to the hoop if there’s clearly a wide open lane. Better decision making.

It’s possible they actually weigh the players and measure their height before the season right?

The heights and weights do not stay the same for every player every year.

Colley put on a ton of muscle through the years. I’m guessing his freshman and senior seasons had very different listed weights. I don’t know when the guys are weighed, but I’d imagine it’s done officially at least once a year.

Toney is the same height and 25 lbs heavier than Gaines. And I would not say that Toney is huge or jacked..

Maybe it's his new hair style that makes him look bigger to me!
