I'm surprised NIU wasn't picked last. We have a brand new head coach and tons of roster turnover. Previous NIU coach ran the program into the ground over the course of 10 years.

Kent State beat Pittsburgh 5-4 last night. The MAC leaders -- Bowling Green -- fell to a school in Columbus 6-4.

Miami beat Wright State 22 to 21 in the first round of the Nuxhall Classic. We will play the winner of the UC/Xavier game.

Been a tough season for the Chippewas as we lost 5 players to Cincinnati when our coach left for the Bearcats but CMU beat Sparty 10-0 yesturday. Wave the jolly Rodger

Impressive victories by WMU and CMU. Glad to see the MAC baseball is in some kind of renaissance. Too bad OHIO is not part of it.

Yeah, if bobcats had a tail, it would be between our legs right now as we slink to near the bottom of the MAC standings. i guess we should be grateful that Akron reinstated its baseball program!

I didn't even know that Capital University played baseball ... and I don't see Bowling Green on their schedule for this week. I got Capital splitting a double header with Muskingum.

I work at Capital, and I can vouch that we do indeed play baseball. i can't, however, vouch for our win over BG last night, though!

And, Muskies, Falcons, fins, feathers...it's all the same, right? LOL

NIU beat Northwestern earlier in the season during our 26 or so straight road games to start the season.

That's a puzzle then ... as this page confirms there are no Division 1 baseball programs in Columbus. ...

... and there aren't any JUCO baseball teams in Central Ohio, with a couple in the Dayton area, a couple in the Toledo area, a clutch in NE Ohio and one in SE Ohio.

I mean, I was born in Columbus and grew up in the countryside east of Columbus, and I've got a nagging feeling that that list is missing something ...

... but I might be thinking of the Clippers, the AAA baseball team -- they were originally in the Pittsburgh farm system, then moved to the Yankees around 1980, and have been in the Cleveland farm system for over a decade now.

Falcons swept Central Michigan yesterday with one more game to play against the Chips. Bowling Green is now 14-0 in MAC play. Quite a start.

Not so good. They are 18-11 overall. In nonconference play they were:
-- 1-2 at Middle Tennessee
-- 1-2 at Memphis
-- 0-3 at Tennessee
-- 0-1 at Dayton
-- 1-2 at Xavier
-- 0-1 at Ohio State
-- 1-0 vs. Purdue Fort Wayne

Broncos on a 7 game win streak after sweeping Miami this past weekend.

The WMU @ BGSU series the first weekend of May should be fun.
