So, we have another shot at a top ten team at home. A win would be absolutely ginormous on so many levels. Will we see CJ get extended minutes? If so, will he be effective? More Reynolds, less Vik please. I'm just thankful the game isn't on ESPN Pus...

That picture is very justified, IMO he should get 30 minutes and be fed the ball. The offense should go inside out.

What a wonderful world it would be if CJ Frederick came in and started dropping threes like crazy tonight and the rest of the season.

Hadn't considered it but that would also help us with the committee. Besides the games we'd be winning it would also show we're a different team with him and they're supposed to take injuries into consideration.

A dream come true? UC is still in search of a three point assassin who can come in and singlehandedly put away a quality opponent. How many times during the Mick era did we wish for that as we watched the Bearcats go down early in March Madness for lack of a made three pointer or two in the closing minutes? Or at Cintas Center for that matter as a reserve came off the X bench and scorched the nets?

My hope was that CJ was that guy for our 'Cats. I'm still hoping and it couldn't start at a better time than tonight.

The most worrisome part of this game is that ISU is a team that likes to create turnovers. They forced 27 turnovers against TCU. Against Houston, who is one of the top teams in the country at protecting the ball, they forced 16 turnovers. We all know how careless UC is with the ball. Hopefully this one doesn't get much more ugly than usual.

Houston was number 1 in the country in forcing turnovers (turnover rate) going into the last game. UC only turned it over 8 times. (which dropped Houston to number 4 in the country in that metric) A similar effort would be huge this game.

Yes, it would be huge, because we don't anticipate UC getting killed on the glass as much this game. They can't afford to negate that by turning the ball over.

Agreed. And if Vik isn't dialed in from the start tonight, those minutes need to go down the bench fast. His three point misses right now aren't even reaching the rim or backboard at times and essentially become additional turnovers.

I just wonder what the coaching staff is instructing Lakhin to do. Are they telling him to play outside and shoot threes?

Or is he just doing his own thing?

5 minutes in, 6 turnovers. Not a good start.

I'd take Day Day over mid-major MAW 8 days of the week but he really needs to take better care of the ball.
