MAC Men's POTW?
Any idea what's going on with the MAC this year and their Men's players of the week?

It seems like every damned week they have to name two guys as CO-Players of the Week.

Happened again this week. Just seems odd.

There used to be divisions and each division had a POW. To keep stats the same across the years for HOF purposes they still give out 2.

Then why did this week's women's player of the week have only one winner?

Right, there's been a few times this year with only one men's winner as well.

RE: MAC Men's POTW?
There was probably a tie in voting.

I mean Cheilla Watson could have also been unanimous as well.

Any clue who actually "votes" on this thing?

Do teams nominate players each week and they hold some league-wide vote by the coaches, media, or Ad's? Or is this just something chosen by someone in the league office? I honestly don't know.

I honestly don't know how it's chosen either.

The MAC press releases used to list the PoW along with the "other nominees," and so I assumed that each school nominated a player (if they played that week, and wanted to nominate someone), and someone voted, probably the coaches. Don't know if a coach was allowed to vote for their player or not.

The last year or two, the releases only show the selectee, so I don't know if they changed the process, or just can't be bothered to list the other players anymore.

Example of an old release with all nominees:

Example of latest release:
