The seat is warm. I am worried that Chris won’t make the move though.

Wild to see Golding’s Miners included in the title of the thread. What a turnaround in El Paso over the past few weeks. A win away from their first NCAA appearance since 2010!

A couple of weeks ago the Miners had lost 4 in a row, tied for last place and a number of us were calling for Golding to be fired. Now, 5 wins in a row and in the conference title game. Golding is safe for another year but the regular season still sucked.

Bad enough McDevitt has only taken the Raiders to one post season tourney (the CIT) in his six years at Middle. Bad enough that his overall record with MT sucks. Bad enough that we were the preseason pick to win CUSA and bombed! But, the killer is gettin' your butt spanked by 30+ against your archrival on National TV. For the sake of restoring a once prominent Men's Basketball program to something more than oblivion; please FIRE THE HEAD COACH TODAY!!!!

Sounds very reasonable.

None that I have heard. Looks like WKU Women's and MTSU Men's hoops are embracing the suck for at least one more season.

Just pathetic......... on MT's part, at least

I'm convinced that the rotten slimeball president at MT was sent here to halt progress with OUR (not his) university.

You can rest assured that if by some miracle something good happens at MT, he will "claim it" and get his photo op.

Is Steve Lutz safe to his return to WKU next season? Three NCAA tournaments in three years. Already JMU, FAU, and Utah State have lost their head coaches to P5 programs in the last week.

He is on Oklahoma State's watch list. So far they seem to be favoring Steve Alford from Nevada, but Lutz is the dark horse candidate there. If we can survive that opening, I think he stays for at least one more season. The other jobs that are currently open are too lateral in pay grade to jump ship for (in my opinion), or are beyond his current resume (UofL).

It's all a chain reaction. A prominent P5 program hires away a coach from a lower-level P5 program, then that lower-level P5 program hires away a top-notch mid-level ("mid-major") coach and so on.

Based on the available HC jobs, Lutz should be safe... unless Louisville hires a head coach from another P5 program, who might consider Lutz.

Thankfully UofL is going full blown stupid and targeting Richard Pitino (Rick's son) from New Mexico.

Junior is a good recruiter (because of his surname) but he is not nearly the tactician as his father. But anything that disrupts our rivals to the north is fine with me. If Louisville hires Pitino Jr., I'm sure they will be eyeing some of the Lobo players to fill their Cardinal roster... Donovan Dent, JT Toppin, and Tru Washington.

Right now, our existing CUSA coaches are trying to hold their rosters together. I wonder if the loss of Jestin Porter pushes MT's Nick McDevitt's closer to the cliff of being fired?

If they were going to pull the trigger this off season then they need to do it yesterday. The longer they go, the less time a replacement has to maintain and add to their roster.

Some interesting coaching moves/rumors around the country…

Andy Enfield likely to leave USC for SMU, filling one lucrative “high-major” job but opening another.

FAU’s Dusty May will take the reins at Michigan.

Richard Pintino of UNM is a candidate at Louisville, as is Amir Abdur-Rahim.

All could lead to trickle down that could impact CUSA…

I think at this juncture, only Steve Lutz has any cachet among the CUSA coaches. The rest are solidly locked into their current programs with little demand.
