I don't think USM will stay down. Better days will come to Hattiesburg.

The goal of every team year over year should be to recruit, coach, play and schedule in such a manner that the team's RPI improves by 10 percent or more, at least until the program is consistently in the top 1/4 of D1 [RPI of 75ish]. If everyone successfully does that, the conference will improve rapidly.

Since ULM's new coach arrived, they have essentially been doing that. I expect they will continue to do so.

I expect similar things will happen at USM.

What sounds even more impressive to me is it was 2013 when we last lost a conference series. That's quite a few different teams and players over a 10+ year span.
