Texas Tech comes to Abilene this afternoon. We lost to them 4-9 earlier in the year in Lubbock. I still don't know if we will risk any players with another important series this weekend against UC Davis. BUT, with UC Davis not being WAC, we may go for it. Who knows...

A win over a P5 would mean more in that scenario. Now if you were in Davis, then yes that'd be bigger.

We ended up getting absolutely destroyed by Tech 21-3. Bad pitching and good hitting (combined with a nice little north wind) gave TT tons of homers. Interesting we couldn't take advantage of the same wind...

**I'll add that playing your bench for the experience is ok to a point, but at some point you also need to think of the optics to the fans, especially in a town like Abilene against a private school like ACU. ACU tries to market itself as Abilene's Big Country home team for DI sports. This is because historically, the town has never liked ACU and ACU is trying to bolster its image. The coach then puts his eggs in the basket of conference title, which is fine, but then shoots himself in the foot with nights like last night. ACU beat Tech a couple of years ago. Even if we don't win, we keep it competitive and show the town that they can play with the big boys. As it stand, the die hard ACU fan will know why the coach allowed the game to get out of hand. The townspeople that the school was trying to bring in will laugh and move on, and the struggle for sports fans in general will continue...**

After being blown out by Tech, ACU finally gets a game 1 win against a 15-15 UC Davis: 10-0.

ACU now sits at 21-14 after taking game #2 from UC Davis 12-2. It makes me wonder what we COULD have done in some of our mid-week games. UC Davis was not a conference series and very low # crowd. I still hate getting skunked in front of thousands that come out for a P5 game with us, but win against a mid-major with no one watching us and for no conference gain...

CBU sits at 23-13 and GCU still sits above us at 18-16...

Alway fun when we win against P5 schools, but I cannot find the ESPN+ video to watch us take down TCU. I had a conflict and missed out on being there to enjoy the win.

Also, GCU beats #21 Arizona 5-4. They only lost their last game to them 4-6. I was kinda hoping they would lose because we were only one game behind them (even though both of these gams were OOC).

WAC BSB is looking alright. Only thing that concerns me is UVU being tied for 3rd in the WAC with a 15-18 overall record and their love for playing NAIA and NWAC schools home and away since this current staff has been in Orem. I always think this every year that SacSt will do some damage come WAC Tourney in Mesa as well.

UVU is 19-19, not 15-18, but yes they shouldn't be scheduling NAIA schools.
