Both the Rockets website and my database had her at 989 coming in, and she scored 10 according to live stats. Unless the live stats are wrong and she got more than 10 today.
Jim Heller had her at 999 points before she hit her last two free throws. And the crowd went into hyperdrive when she hit her first foul shot. Coach Cullop acknowledged Sami’s accomplishment in the post game interview.

OK I figured out the discrepancy. In last year's BG game at Savage, the UT official scores gave a bucket Sammi made to Khera. That error remains in the on-line box scores on the UT website, and the career stats they show for both.
But, apparently that error somewhere got corrected in the official NCAA stats. No one told me :(
Anyway, yes Sammi DOES have 1001 career points!
Get this, she is the 33rd 1000 point scorer in UT history!!!

Speaking of Sammi does anyone, ANYONE, have any influence with Heller and any possibility that you could pilleeeeze make him agree to never say the word “mayor” again?

Why? She even had an endorsement with the actual Mayor this season. It's one of the best nicknames in wbb history post 2010.

She def is. But if they take a position (1 point guard) Nyla Hampton will be in the running. Lots of UT fatigue around the conference. They're sick of our players and coaches winning things. Q likely won't be first team after being POY but missing like 7 games.
UBs gal will be POY.

I just saw on the MAC website that Hampton leads the league in assists per game and also in assist/turnover ratio. Of course, she leads the league by far in steals. Hard to keep her off first team, but Wiard belongs to be there as well.

They don't vote by position. Coaches rank players 1 through 10, or 1 through 15, etc. If a coach wants to rank 5 point guards from 1 through 5, they can. I'm sure both Wiard and Hampton will be on the first team barring something crazy during the next few weeks.

Better be. She's about unstoppable. Best player I've seen in the league in quite a while.

Although I don't follow the women's game right now, I am so proud of the accomplishments of Tricia's teams and the fans that attend games there. Puts UT on the national scale of women's basketball attendances. living in SW Ohio , UC, X, Miami, Wright State and UD fans don't even come close to UT's figures.

BGs message board didn't even start a thread for the UT game... for a team who usually travels an entire section, brought 3 rows and a smattering of fans in the upper deck. Probably only 150 of the 6,077...
We may sell out their gym alone, but the men play at home at the same time. We are in another stratosphere for support. If UT made the dance, I hope it's closer than Knoxville. Creme has Ball State in Spokane vs. the Zags.

Pretty sure your men play the night before, so you can come down to BG from your stratosphere and pack the Stroh Center on the 17th.

At the coach's show tonight, Cullop dropped the news that Gonzaga is coming to Savage next season!
That's a big get. The Zags will graduate most of their best players, but they always seem to find a way to reload, so that will be a great challenge for the retooled Rockets.

The men play while the lady's play Ball State. That's the dilemma I was thinking of. Biggest game of the year for WBB or making a 3,000 crowd 4,000. The women probably have more to lose so I'll likely stay in orbit.
