Tarleton beat ACU tonight. That was the second game where we had a three point lead with little time left and all we needed to do was foul and even with two made free throws, we would be up one with the ball. We did not do the right thing and Tarleton, to its credit, took full advantage of the error. The Texans are the better team tonight, really strong, but ACU started the first five minutes of the game the worst we have seen this year. Hard work got the lead back at the end but the Texans played smart and we did not. We missed enough free throws to have won but the Wildcats just could not pull it off.

All sports are so much more fun when you win.

An extremely fun game tonight with ACU. Two teams playing with everything they had. Hats off to the effort of both.

Loved the hugs Tarleton players gave Simmons in the post game line.

UTA gets its first road win of the year in Southern Utah, 76-68. After trailing 3-0, UTA cruised to a 20 point second hald lead before the Thunderbirds trimmed it under four minutes.

That was nice and good sportsmanship. Both the teams were really all in for a tough game. Texans came back at the end from a tough situation so Tarleton deserved the win. The Wildcats likely played themselves out of the post season tournament with their recent performances. However, Simmons is a wonder. I have never seen someone like him pull off what he does. The play of Williams and Smith was very strong for the Texans.

Outstanding week for the Texans 2-0;

So the next four
@ Utah Valley
@ Seattle
@ UTA
vs Grand Canyon

Could go 0-4.

Hang tough! Your schedule is a hard one but your team has some momentum.

They could go 0-4 but I think its more likely they go 2-2.

UVU/SU you get one of those and TSU should get UTA on the road but UTA at home has been tough. GCU will be tough but they also start slow on the road at times and then build momentum so if TSU can disrupt the momentum for most of the game it could be a fun/stressful finish.

QUE? OK, Negative Nancy.

I don’t see 0-4 anywhere in our future. We’re balling and closing out games pretty well as of late and there is too much to play for over this 4-game stretch:
  • Beat Seattle, we will have taken down every single team in the WAC in our first 4 years of TRANSITION, including nmsu & Sam. Not too shabby.
  • Beat UTA (won’t be easy), we’re the first WAC team to complete the WAC Texas Sweep! Believe me, Coach is talking this one up.
  • Tarleton has owned GCU inside Wisdom gym. Total blowout last year, and GCU snuck out with a 2-point win in our first year of transition after trailing most of the game. Rookie mistakes down the stretch cost us that one.

No reason for the pessimism. You should be proud of what this team has done, and currently doin, with what we have. Everybody else is. Low expectations equates to lowly results.

Not saying we will go 0-4, just saying we could as these next 4 are a really tough stretch.

And we have never beaten CBU or Seattle.

Anything could happen, but things certainly aren’t trending that way.

Touché about CBU. Good thing we have them at home right after GCU! 05-mafia

Eh, who am I kidding…we’ll probably just go 0-5…
