Pete Lembo will do a good job at UB. Buffalo is a good job and has a lot of positives to offer. I would consider it one of the better options in the MAC.

LOL. ‘22 was good. I’m not a huge fan of position coach hires.

Dear BSU,
His 2022 record was 7-6. That was good? You must have low expectations.

Dear bobcat backer,
You obviously fit in with BSU and accept low expectations. Your implication that I accept those expectations because Eastern did not do well last season, couldn't be more wrong.

I’d like to have 7 wins a year, consistently, contending. Anything less is bad (fired) anything more is bad (leave for more money, P5). Yep.

When is the last time a former MAC football head coach came back to coach another MAC school?

I don’t know who was the last, but two came to mind. Bill Mallory was the Miami head coach when I was in school and later won a MAC championships at NIU. Also, Dick Crum replaced Mallory at Miami and later coached at Kent… In basketball current Akron coach John Groce used to coach at Ohio and Kent head coach Jim Christian coached at Ohio.

Yeah, I guess I accept low expectations. I mean, having three losing seasons in the last 19 years of OHIO football would do that, right? Oh wait, never mind! 03-lmfao

Dear bobcat backer,
You are deflecting from the original point. That being that a 7-6 record is not good. I'm glad to see that you have accepted you have low expectations.

Dear BSU,
Seven wins a year lets you contend for what? Maybe a lower bowl game, but no league championships. Yeah that is for what MAC members are striving. That is laughable.

I think saying Dick Crum "coached" at Kent may be a bit of an overstatement. He was there in a particularly miserable stretch of KSU football. There's not a lot of evidence he did more than collect a paycheck and depress fans.

I'm all in on Pete Lembo. He seems like a professional (college) coach compared to MO, who we all referred to as a used car salesman.

Hopefully the rest of the MAC has gotten their free punches in on UB football and we will start punching back.

You’ll be happy with Lembo. His press conference, and subsequent interactions, are very good indicators on what type of coach he’ll be. He did a marvelous job about BSU as a leader and communicator. I suspect he learned a lot since then, coaching under Mike Norvell and at South Carolina, to build upon his already very good head coaching experience and record. I’ll be following UB as closely now as BSU. Very good hire by UB.

I can still see the play that cost BSU the MAC title vs my Huskies,4th down mid field, a minute to go and they call an off tackle run. Play was WIDE open, but the OT (a very good player) steps the wrong way and our Dt stuffs the run. If he just gets his pads on the DT, its a Ball St touchdown from 50 yards out. Tough loss.

Lembo has snagged Miami LB Coach (Joe Bowen) to be their new DC. Not a huge name but he did a great job with our defense so a strong hire for the new regime imo.

That one still hurts. Great game - very good teams.
