I've been posting on message boards since Al Gore invented the Internet.
I think I've been posting ever since Clinton did not have relations with that woman. Not here, but on other boards.
I'm not sure I follow... Clinton DID have sexual relations with that woman, and Al Gore WAS substantially responsible for the creation of the Internet. (I believe Gore was head of the committee responsible for obtaining the funding for the Internet research, or some such -- which is why he originally made that statement).
Wow, you're younger than I thought if you don't know Bill Clinton's infamous quote about Monica Lewinsky.

FAIL.... read it again. I never ever, not once, said that I did not know of that BJ Clinton lie.
What I said was Clinton's was a lie, and Gore's was not a lie, so there is no correlation.

He was brought in because of his relationship with Gus. There are a couple friends in the industry that if they ever became available, Gus was going to attempt to grab them. Kristi Malzahn's podcast (Beyond Gameday) briefly covers it in the Evan Williams episode stating that if Cadillac Williams wanted to come to UCF the door was always open. Malzahn's family approach to coaching is not a gimmick; its real.
Ted Roof and Malzahn have a long friendly relationship together and it feels more like a reunion than a desperation hire. Malzahn trusts Roof and that's the only prerequisite.
I don't think the hire had anything to do with the run defense. However, it was clearly a priority going into the portal this year. We have a ton of transfers at LB coming in to create competition and fix the problem. Really good place for Ted Roof to shine and take ownership of defensive improvement.
I like the "family" idea in theory. Hope it leads to us being a Big XII conference winner. Easier said than done, I know.

Yes, you're right, Al Gore is an honest, upstanding former vice president. Why didn't I see that before?
I love these conversations with California Cuckoo For Cocoa Puffs.

not once did I say Al Gore was honest and upstanding. I said he had substantial involvement in getting the Internet started.
a spirited defense of Gore's statement penned by Internet pioneers Robert Kahn and Vinton Cerf (the latter often referred to as the "father of the Internet") in 2000 noted that "Al Gore was the first political leader to recognize the importance of the Internet and to promote and support its development" and that "No other elected official, to our knowledge, has made a greater contribution [to the Internet] over a longer period of time":

Not going to create a new thread but I’m happy UCF was able to bring back Tim Harris Jr

This news apparently has taken some of the UCF fans who are supposedly more "in-the-know" by surprise. I hear that Darin Hinshaw has been demoted to quarterback coach. What are the chances that Hinshaw decides to go somewhere else? He's a former UCF player, but I'm wondering if Hinshaw has enough incentive to stay.

I don't really think Hinshaw has a lot of options. He's not exactly in demand.
He was let go at Kentucky and we took him in as an analyst. He left for a season as UAB OC. We brought him back as OC/QB. His nephew, Carson Hinshaw, is on the team now.
Where is he going to go? FIU OC?
He's like the new Sean Beckton. UCF Alumni, likes the job enough to stick around.

I’m hoping the Hinshaws stick around. I had the chance to talk to Tyson Hinshaw (who also played for UCF) at a couple of games this past season. Good guy, and I hope his brother Darin stays on the staff for a long time.
