I think allowing individual programs to play series would make sense. Someone like Boise State isn't going to want to be paired up against just anyone in the SBC anymore than App State or JMU would want to be paired up against New Mexico.

App or JMU vs. Boise State or SDSU in a home and home? That is compelling football.

No offense intended, but Boise State vs. ULM or App vs. New Mexico? That doesn't sound interesting to me.

Most programs already have their OOC schedules tied up for years, so its not something that could be easily stitched together overnight anyway.

For starters, I mentioned that it would ideally be organized through conference ranking so the top whatever teams will play the top teams in going down line until the bottom team plays the other worst team in the con (ULM vs New Mexico) also we could burn a FCS series

For baseball and basketball, yes. For football, it doesn't really make sense in OOC for the many reasons already stated in this thread. A bowl tie-in would be nice. I'd rather the SBC play a MWC team in the NOLA bowl than a CUSA teams from a business perspective and a perception perspective (say that 3 times fast).

. . . your fans maybe. I see very little in CUSA’s present rendition that would excite OUR Fans.

Correct. I would be okay with LTech, SHSU (as long as we’re not playing in Bowers), and UTEP… but none of them are are the top of my want to play OOC list. Like I said Okay. Not ecstatic. Just can’t fathom playing in Huntsville until they do something with that stadium. Sunbowl is nice but that’s too far to drive to and El Paso does nothing for me. Not a damn thing in Ruston but they have some quality history.

Would much rather play CSU, Boise, Fresno or SDSU.
