MBB @ Iowa
6pm central on BTN+
Huskies 6-5 and NET 193 Iowa 7-5 and NET 64

Iowa had an up and down type schedule losing to #4 Purdue, #5 Iowa St, #13 Creighton, #20 Oklahoma and at home to #68 Michigan. Then on the flip side the only decent team they beat was #88 Seton Hall. Their other wins all at home were #218, #247, #264, #313, #318 and #326.

As a team their fg% is .477 and 3pt% .335.
Their core is:
Krikke 6'9" GS 28 min, 16.8 ppg, 3pt 1 for 5 and 5.5 reb
Sandfort 6'7" JR 25 min, 13.7 ppg, 3pt 30 for 80, and 6.9 reb (Payton's bro is a FR)
Perkins 6'4" SR 27min, 13.5 ppg, 3pt 9 for 29 and 4.8 reb
McCaffery 6'9" RS SR 25 min, 10.2 ppg, 3pt 11 for 36 and 3.5 reb

This will be tough sledding at Iowa, but this is not the best Hawkeye team we have faced.

Crump FT watch - 1 for 3 vs Cleveland St so he is now 5 for 33.

GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RE: MBB @ Iowa
Lost some of the excitement for this one with the recent form, going in with no expectations. Iowa seems to beat who they are supposed to. Still making the trip out, hopefully a decent amount of red at Carver.

Just paid my $10 to watch the game on BigTen+. Hoping Huskies can play to potential and give Iowa a game. Looks like K. Williams still not playing, not optimistic about him contributing this year. A shame.

I blow money on so much stupid crap but couldn't get myself to do it either. I'll listen like the old days.

My goodness. Iowa has 18 more FG attempts than us. We can't let this happen the whole game and hope to keep shooting lights out from 3. 8 offensive rebounds to none for us.

Butler has played in this game.

Iowa is really hot, but our D is just non-existent. Layup show for Iowa.

He doesn't even show up on the ESPN stats. He must have barely played so far.

Edit: Now is is showing up on it.

Getting absolutely destroyed in the second half. Iowa may put up 120.

It's apparently a mystery.

He played in the Indiana State game and came out flying as if there were zero concerns with anything health-wise. Then, someone mentioned he limped off the court in the 2nd half (I think) and he's never been seen or talked about again.

I mean...if I were Burno, I probably wouldn't bring it up but to never be asked about Williams in any of the post-game interviews or anything else is perplexing and goes to show you how much anyone actually cares about the basketball team.

I've heard it's bad, from someone who should know something. But I can't vouch for that 100%. I don't know if that means it is the same tear, if that means it is the season or career, etc. Just that it is bad.

He didn’t appear to travel with the team today.

CollegeMan, you called this one games ago and I didn’t want to believe it about the defense. I have no idea what they are trying to run defensively. Today was a mix of a horrible zone and just lack of effort? We were getting killed in transition even off our own baskets. When the other team makes simple passes there always seems to be someone wide open at the three point line with the way we choose to double and switch on drives.

Williams is the new Dontel Highsmith from an injury standpoint. There doesn’t appear to be any defense being coached, taught or played other than a few blocked shots. Offensively it’s just one on one and these guys are good at that for about a half then they wear out. Tonight was embarrassing and they’ve been beaten badly numerous times this year already. The road to a MACC starts Tuesday night need to win home games.

RE: MBB @ Iowa
Honestly folks....

I'm as disappointed and annoyed and frustrated as the lot of ya but...to tell the truth...

I still think this team...warts and all...will still be one of the favorites to win the MACT this year. This team is talented and, I'm thinking..., once the grind of the MAC schedule kicks in and we get away from all of these extended breaks and games against weird teams...things will start to gel a bit.

Also, I just don't think the MAC is all that good. There's a few teams at the top (and we are definitely one of them) and then some really meh teams and then some crap. The basketball conference is probably better than the football conference...but not by leaps and bounds.

So...I'm optimistic that this season is going to be fun and entertaining.

BigRed, I think you’re thinking NIU can win a MACC because you feel the MAC is weak this year. Akron, Kent St., Toledo, Ohio are pretty decent. NIU has one good win/App St. on the season. They have been crushed in 4 losses and lost easily against UNI. Right now they’re looking like a 6-8 seed MAC team. Maybe they will have a good MAC season maybe they won’t that’s why you play the games. The Georgia tournament and the game against Monmouth tell me they’re at best middle of pack MAC team.

Season went from fun to mediocre pretty quick. Hope we have a nice little run in the conference slate, and take an honest shot at the MACC.

Happy new years gents (and ladies)....
