It seems very unlikely. ESPN's lawyers would have to be pretty stupid to make it that easy.

What does the contract say? It’s not public so all comment is speculation. I agree, to allow dissolution to terminate the financial responsibilities would be an easy out. The schools could have already dissolved and reformed to get a better media deal.

How so? If Jordan is healthy, FSU is in the playoff. Do you not agree?

I feel I must speak up in behalf of FSU: ESPN was definitely trying to get Alabama and Texas into the playoffs over Florida State BEFORE Travis was injured. His injury was nothing more than a convenient excuse - they were already trying to come up with some reason to cut the Noles out.

TBH, I used to think Seminole fans were paranoid, but I've come to the conclusion that ESPN actually has something against FSU. I don't know if it's related to Florida government (conflicts with Disney could explain a lot), but honestly it seems like it goes further back - at least to 2014, when they appeared to attack FSU every chance they got.

I don't think it's necessarily a whole ACC issue -- although there's no question that ACC football success is downplayed on ESPN. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a personal issue, rather than actual market forces at work (the ACC should know about THAT!).

Thing is - if it IS personal - there's nowhere FSU can go except the Big Ten.

Good memory to remember what ESPN did to FSU with the 2014 CFP situation.
