MBBvs Calumet Crimson Wave
In the Convo "about" 7:30 central as it follows wbb vs EIU. NET rank Calumet NR and NIU #137. This should be a bench clearer for anyone healthy.

GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RE: MBBvs Calumet Crimson Wave
Coming at the right time to end the three game skid. Result shouldn't be in question so watching for the following tonight:

-Health of Ibarguen/Williams (or at least status update if not worth playing)
-Extended run for Lovings-Watts/McPherson/Butler/Russell (try to get some of these guys contributing again)
-More commitment on the defensive end

If we don't win by 30 it is a loss.

RE: MBBvs Calumet Crimson Wave
Has anyone heard what's going on with Williams or Ibarguen?

The NIU women's team won 65-55 and makes it to .500 on the season after starting the season 0-3. They have won 5 of their last 7 games.

Coach mentioned something about Yanic having some tragedy in his life before Monmouth game. That was all he said and nothing specific.

So far (about 10 minutes in or so):

1. Ibarguen is wearing a mask but is going Ibarguen things like running the floor and diving onto the floor for a loose ball
1a. Williams is not dressed...
2. Lovings-Watts might have started. I tuned in in the first 2 minutes and he was in. He's looked good. Russell knocked down a 3. I don't think the other two have played.
3. Pressing a lot and the Crimson Wave can't handle it at all.

55% from 3 point land, 76% at the line, 10 guys got in, all positives from first half. NAIA team, doing most of damage in transition as expected.

Gave up 9 offensive boards in first half when we have a size advantage. Really want the bigs to stay home through all the switching, the 5 keeps getting caught out on the perimeter when shots are going up.

More than a few of the offensive rebounds were bad misses that came off the rim hard. Those are the hardest to prevent. You block a guy out or get position and it clangs off way over your head.

RE: MBBvs Calumet Crimson Wave
Coach said there's been a lot of family things going on for players. Yanic's dad had a heart attack and Phil's grandma had some a health issue and both players had time away from the team.

No mention of what's going on with Williams. He did say Butler was a gametime decision due to injury and he hopes he is ready to go for the next game vs. UNI.

Not a lip reader but think it was about starters still being in the game at that point. Also a hunch that he posts on this board lol

RE: MBBvs Calumet Crimson Wave
The interaction was me screaming at Burno to get his starters off the court! 4 minutes to go and he’s bringing in Xavier Amos and still has Coit, Nutter, Watts and Konan on the court. My name is Tony Harley and I’ve supported NIU basketball and football and contributed more money than Burno and probably any NIU coach! I remember when Dontel Highsmith blew out his knee at Iowa State with less than a minute to go when the game was way over. Yes I yelled at Burno and told him I don’t give a fuc…& if he doesn’t like it! I want NIU basketball to become good and I don’t see how this was a good idea.
