Actually, I can't think of another occasion 2 P5's agreed to a 2-1 but could be wrong (I'm assuming the games were agreed to prior to ACC declaration?).
Really don't think this could've worked out any better for SMU.

This has to be on Lea, because this isn't Vandy's style.
Traditionally the Commodores have played OOC opponents similiar to them - better schools who face an uphill climb due to academics, at least on some level. Northwestern, Duke, Wake, Rice, TCU, GT, etc. But they went 2-10 this past seasaon and Clark may be starting to feel the heat. Hell, UNLV beat them, though it's worth pointing out the Rebels had a pretty good season.
As 94 pointed out we win by getting out of this deal. I don't know who we will play next year but I'd like someone in our camp to call Sonny and say 'hey, we've got an opening in '28 and '29 if you're available...." but god know pride will get in the way of common sense, tradition and money.

But I can state with genuine happiness our days of being penciled in as a 'lock' win are over. Granted, there are better programs out there than Vandy, but you can't automatically assume you win against us anymore, praise the lord.

I've met Lea before (was on Cuse staff) he needs to win more so you could be right. Vandy is in a tough spot. They would do so much better in the ACC.
