I know he said indoor but I think USA said the same thing about their's and you both are in Alabama so here is my question. Will it have walls? Oh and congrats...that's great.

The team will be able to practice with rain, thunder, and (possibly) snow. That's all we need!

Like another poster said, "About damn time!"

We don’t know yet. There’s no renderings out yet. Only that the Chancellor shared with the team that they’re going to build it and it’s going to be 10 million. I doubt it has walls on it seeing as how UAB’s facility was 22.5 million from what I’ve read. But theirs had additional practice fields and field house and such built with it so who knows.

My experience is that it coddles players and makes them weak. Wish we'd never built ours. When we end up having a game in the rain they don't even know how to react. In the old days, on a bad day, they watched game film. Need more of that.

He’s literally the best and it’s his vision for the last 30 something years that’s built Troy into what it is now.

I worry about that as well. I think we are a gritty team because of practicing in the heat.

I’m not worried about them being weak from it as long as we have Jon. I think the indoor would mainly be used when we can’t practice outside.

Led Troy all the way from Division II in the 1980's to where we are now.

His next goal is to move Troy from being a Master's University to a Carnegie research institution, which isn't too far away now that our research center is nearly complete.

Not bad for a former teacher's college in what was a rest stop city on the way to the Florida beaches.

Building on up for the future of big time collegiate athletics. I imagine something like South Alabama or Georgia Southern has is what we will build. Just protection from lighting, heavy rain, and overly excessive sun.

As long as we don't have South Alabama's IPF contractors... I'm good.

GS practice pavilion cost about 17.5M just to give you an idea what you get for your money these days.

Hmm. Makes me wonder if we just raised 10 million to add to other money athletics was already willing to spend. Bc by this metric, we’re building a practice shack then. And I don’t see Troy doing that when the rest of our athletic facilities are as nice as they are.
