Is there another thread for the game? This one doesn’t say “ official.”

Fair match up. Didnt deserve any more.
How weird will this season be if Hammock wins a bowl gamer and gets a P5 win? All the things we used to complain about Carey? It's so confusing to be a Huskies fan now.

Very winnable opponent for NIU considering we won't have our top 2 WRs for this game.

"Very winnable" is completely meaningless to this team.

Oregon was maybe 1 possession away from making the play-offs...and instead they get a bowl matchup with Liberty.

Look at these flight prices.
Or if you enjoy being on the road for 12 hrs with no stops.

I’ve spent a week in Montgomery for work a couple years ago. Thought it was decent actually, but no direct flight from Chicago when I did.
Pretty ideal in my book. Hope the team shows lots of passion and breaks the losing streak. I like Hammocks attitude towards it on Twitter/X. “Can’t Wait!!”

RE: 2023 Camellia Bowl - NIU vs Arkansas St
We've been hard to figure out all year. Lost our first two games by 110 points combined, struggled to beat a bad FCS team in game 3, then put a True Fresh in at QB, caught a break in scheduling with USM and UMass twice in a row to gain confidence.
Since that streak we've looked god awful offensively at times, and like world beaters at other times. Put up nearly 50 on ULL and 77 on Texas State but only 21 against Marshall and South Alabama with late scores involved. Likely the pains of a Freshman QB, who is still learning the college game. Raynor has made some weird mistakes, but also looked downright unstoppable at times.
Defense has a terrible ranking because of our first few games, but has settled lately. We are not very deep on that side, and we struggle with running QB's. My honest read is that we are honestly ahead of schedule in terms of returning to a bowl. the thought this year was that we'd try and use this season to build up depth on the lines and improve the receivers and defense, finish with 4 maybe 5 wins, and chase a bowl next year, but we ended up beating our biggest rivals by a ton late in the year at home and snuck into a game somehow
Weird Fact: We've been an underdog in 11 of our 12 games this year.

Thanks for sharing.
Same is true for us being hard to figure out. We win game 1 vs ACC bowl team and then come home to lose to a playoff FCS team. This NIU team has lost five games by a total of 22 points but we lost to teams that we shouldn't like FCS, Ball St, and Tulsa at home.
We don't win by a lot and we don't lose by a lot. But this is year 5 under Hammock and he would have been fired by most schools by now for his poor overall record and three losing seasons (will be four if we lose this bowl game).

RE: 2023 Camellia Bowl - NIU vs Arkansas St
2 programs who in the 80's both bought into the grandiose illusion that their respective football programs could go "big time" and become a P5 program. All it did was land both teams into a Big West Conference in the 90's that didn't make sense for either team. They finally came to their senses and settled in conferences that suited their talents perfectly. They should call this Bowl the Mirror-Image Bowl.

Fly to Atlanta and rent a car and drive.
Guarantee you the flights from Chicago to Atlanta are about half that.

I‘m happy with this pick. We don’t deserve any better and I would have hated to play a P5 when we suck. And nobody will watch this game so oh well if we lose. But I‘ve always wanted to fly that Camilla Bowl banner so let’s shock the world and get a dub!
