"...We have to be balanced about bringing in the outrages against Palestinian..."
Quote:WATCH: Democrat Rep. Pramila Jayapal tries to downplay and defend Hamas’ rape & sexual violence against Israeli women.

Jayapal scolds Israel: "If they do not comply with international humanitarian law..."

CNN's Dana Bash was having none of it: "With respect, I was just asking about the women, and you turned it back to Israel..."

Jaypal: "...We have to be balanced about bringing in the outrages against Palestinians..."

Michelle Obama's Response When Asked to Condemn Hamas' Rapes of Israeli Women Won't Shock You

Quote:It appears the #MeToo movement is only adamant about fighting to protect women as long as they do not happen to be Israeli. When reports surfaced detailing horrific abuse carried out by Hamas terrorists against Israeli women, many on the anti-Israel left were conspicuously mum about the revelations.

Now, according to a high-profile member of the Israeli government, former First Lady Michelle Obama is one of several prominent leftists who refuses to criticize Hamas for their atrocities against women.

May Golan, Minister for the Advancement of the Status of Women of Israel, participated in an interview on Israel’s Channel 14 on Saturday and discussed the brutal acts committed against Israeli females. Golan told the host that her team had approached Michelle Obama, who had previously condemned Boko Haram, a terrorist group that kidnapped 276 girls from a Nigerian school. Unfortunately, Obama declined to say a word about the mass rape that occurred against Israeli women on October 7 during Hamas’ surprise attack.

Golan: It’s impossible to trust these institutions any more. From my perspective, they don’t have any relevance anymore. And that’s what I want to say. When Michelle Obama, wife of Barack Hussein Obama, said, in public, went out against Boko Haram, and called to return the girls that were kidnapped by Boko Haram, we had, here, a moment of silence, for a sigh ––

Host: She said nothing? She said nothing.

Golan: Not a word. And we approached her, I tell you

Host: Oh, this is new. You approached Michelle Obama —

Golan: Unambigously.

Host: — please condemn the case of the slaughter of the 7th of October, and Michelle Obama did not agree to condemn it?

Golan: I’ll tell you more than that. I sent her a description, in authentic, sworn testimony, by people who told about the collection of severed female organs from women who had been raped, on broken pelvises, about shocking things that … I don’t want to continue to say in the Israel media. We know that the request has been received. She is not in a political position, she can certainly respond. Silence from her, from all the other female celebrities.

This revelation comes shortly after U.N. Women, an arm of the United Nations that is supposedly dedicated to championing women’s rights globally, engaged in the same behavior.

UN Women, the self-described "global champion for gender equality," has deleted their post from last week that condemned the rapes and murders of Israeli women at the hands of Hamas.

UN Women were heavily criticized for their weeks-long silence following the October 7 massacre in Israel, which saw countless Israeli women raped, tortured, and murdered at the hands of Hamas terrorists. They initially paid lip service to the horrors inflicted upon these women -- a full week after the attacks -- by tweeting:

UN Women condemns the attacks on civilians in Israel & the Occupied Palestinian Territories, & is deeply alarmed by the devastating impact on civilians including women & girls. International Humanitarian Law & Human Rights Law must be respected & upheld.

Do we even need to ask how these people, along with the elite media, would react if it was revealed that Israeli soldiers had treated Palestinian women in Gaza the same way? The responses coming from the left would be frantic, with wall-to-wall coverage given to the incident, which shows that these people are looking at the situation through a political lens, not a humanitarian one.

These issues are only important to the left when it fits the greater narrative

Rep. Pramila Jayapal is a raging anti-semite. No surprise that she would keep pivoting to blaming Israel.

Quote:Voices on both sides of the aisle took to X to criticize Jayapal for dismissing Hamas rapes against Israeli women.

Liberal analyst and Bustle head of research Jessica Tarlov was direct. She posted a screenshot of the interview and wrote: “This is beyond f***** up. Every single one of these Democratic primaries of the ‘progressives’ is going to be justified.”

Similarly, CNN medical analyst Jonathan Reiner called attention to the comment that “we have to be balanced” in our condemnation of rape.

A former writer for The View, Daniella Greenbaum Davis, called the comments “depraved,” while Democratic Majority for Israel’s account posted, “Really? Balance in condemning mass rape as a weapon?”

Never Trumper and go-to conservative basher Joe Walsh weighed in, too, saying: “Jayapal had neither the decency, fairness, or courage to unequivocally condemn what Hamas did. She had to say ‘but.'”
