Football attendance goes up
https://www.d1ticker.com/2023-fbs-attendance-trends/

There was a nice increase this year…mainly due to CCG participants FSU and Louisville.

Next year won’t be pretty. SMU (23K), Stanford (33K) and Cal (39K) all have relatively low football attendance.

In terms of attendance versus capacity, there are a lot of schools with serious attendance problems:
Duke (63%)
Stanford (66%)
Georgia Tech (66%)
Syracuse (69%)
Pitt (70%)
Virginia (70%)
SMU (71%)
Cal (75%)
Miami (76%)
IMO - these are the schools that likely aren’t reinvesting enough into football.

SMU might be ok -- have you seen their home schedule for 2024?

Good point. SMU is taking huge risks by foregoing media money. They just need to stay relevant with the stronger schedule and fans will come.

Cuse capacity is being decreased to about 42K.

Individual Seats throughout and widening aisles for ADA requirements.

Has there been any games with more than 42K in, say, the last 20 years?

Yes. In 2012, the average attendance was close to 46,000. In 2018 the average attendance was over 42,000.
