RE: Rank the Big 12 - MBB Edition
I like to believe TCU is a NCAA lock, but hard to tell with how pathetically weak TCUs OOC schedule has been to date. I guess i am taking solace in the fact that there is at least one starter from last year's NCAA tourney team that is coming off the bench this year and the fact that two of our HS recruits are red-shirting as a fact that Dixon has high confidence that this team will get to the post season.

Yeah, their schedule has been crap thus far but they've also been blowing the doors off their opponents which is more than a lot of teams can say against similar competition.
TCU and Cincy are the two most unproven Big 12 teams at this point but there is a lot to like on both rosters.

Hoping that UCF can somehow get an at-large NCAA tournament bid in this very deep conference, but we shall see.

Quality losses add up, right?

Typically a B12 team needed to have at least 7 conference wins (out of 18 conf games), or nearly .500 and at least 17 wins overall to have a chance to make the Big Dance. Previously 6-7 teams would make it in annually (out of 10), or slightly more than half the teams.
I'm projecting below, based on past selection results, that a team will still need similar results and that possibly up to 9 teams may be invited now. (we still play 18 conf games, and now have 14 teams, so assuming about half the teams will be at least .500, plus possibly a couple of teams just under .500)
I.E. - try to win at least 7 conf games, and 17 wins overall, that should get you on the cusp of an at large invite. (there is also SOS, quadrant wins, etc., that could affect the final selections)

Can we put ucf lower after seeing Stetson get crushed by the lone independent in d1, Chicago State?

Need to move Cincy down to 12. Seeing us lose to Eggsaver and Dayton this team is no better ready for Big 12 than our FB team was. Apologies to the Big 12.

Sure, put us at the bottom for now, but we have chances left to move up. UCF lost to an undefeated Ole Miss team by two points (a basket that would've forced overtime didn't count because time had run out). In the Stetson and Ole Miss games, we played to the level of the competition. No more nights off. We need to maintain 40 minutes of the same intensity throughout. Get out of the recent free throw shooting slump. Make sure to protect the basketball. Keep up the good things we've done such as shot blocking. We can do better.
