Those things matter way more than schemes and systems. Guys know they have to win to get noticed. Had Rocky not gotten hurt, it's possible we win two championships with him. Obviously winning the Conference Championship game is hard and being a single elimination game, odd things can win the championship so it's never a given.

Don't underestimate how much the injury has diminished Rocky. He was never perfect but eliminating the aspect of his game that made him difficult has had a major effect on our success.

QBs want to know if they go to a school, they have a chance to win games.

Also, there are going to be a ton of QBs in the portal and they all can't go to the most ideal system. If you want to play and have a chance to win, a place like NIU looks way better than a lot of other potential landing spots.

If you want to get noticed this offense is not for you.

That being said there are way more dancers than chairs in the game of musical QBs so if Hammock wants to find someone he can, just not the belle of the ball

They can get noticed here, they just have to play well.

I mean with Rudolph in the portal you sure about that? Throwing to any one of our no Hands WR is not a great decision by any QB.

Didn't you say yourself that Rocky throws a ball that isn't a spiral? I doubt that's the whole problem but maybe some of it. And it's not like Rocky was ever consistent.

Oh I hate Rocky as a passer and the coaches do too - but if you put him on the field let him be the QB. Protecting him did the offense no favors.

Not sure that’s correct. The numbers are surely inflated - but I bet the QBs are the most expensive.

Yep and that is why you are seeing some of the transfers committing just a couple days after entering the portal. I think they see that the offers can go just as fast as they were offered and could be left without a spot to go/want to go.

Just when i thought we might catch ND next year with a lower caliber QB compared to Hartman, they are saying Riley Leonard from Duke has them high on his list.

And Notre Dame has about $7 million ready to give to whomever... If we keep our defense intact, I still like our chances of being competitive if the offense is vastly improved. If the offense is still inept, we are getting crushed.

I still cannot believe that Rocky played on the same NIU team as Coach Hammock!
