Let's not assume Cuse is going to beat Wake with a TE at QB.

RE: 2023 Bowl Games
I would think Miami would be more wanted for the Florida bowls (Pop Tarts and Gator) and shouldn't have to settle for El Paso.

RE: 2023 Bowl Games
Could the winner of the NCSU vs UNC game have an outside shot at the Orange bowl? Assume FSU wins out, UL already played in Miami just this past week, could they be going some place else?

Good Point....So here is my final records projections, ranked by conf standings, remember the ACC and its bowl partners make team selections based on several factors, including geographic proximity, avoiding repeat appearances and matchups, and regular-season won-loss records to include Conf record, and SOS!

FSU -12-0
LOU - 11-1
NC ST - 9-3
GT- 6-6
VT- 6-6
Clemson - 8-4
UNC- 8-4
BC-7-5
Duke 7-5
Miami 6-6

So after careful consideration:

FSU: CFP
Louisville: Orange vs Big10
Notre Dame: ReliaQuest
Clemson: Holiday Bowl
NC State: Pop Tarts
UNC/Duke: Duke Mayo Bowl
UNC/GT: Gator
GT/Duke: Sun
VT/Miami Pinstripe
VT/Miami: Military
Boston College: Fenway

There is zero chance a 6-6 team goes to the Gator.

What happens if FSU goes to Orange Bowl after beating Louisville, but not finishing in CFP Top 4?

An 11-2 Louisville goes to the Peach, Cotton, or Fiesta Bowl.
A 10-3 Louisville goes to the Reliaquest, PopTart or Gator Bowl

Thanks. A followup: What happens if Louisville and FSU both finish with regular season wins ... and then Louisville beats FSU in ACC Champ game by tiny margin? Does OB pick FSU?

Beats me.

You could end up with this:

1. Ohio State 13-0
2. Bama 12-1
3. Oregon 12-1
4. Texas 12-1
5. Georgia 12-1
6. Michigan 12-1
7. Louisville 12-1
8. Washington 12-1
9. FSU 12-1

If Louisville goes to the CFP, then FSU goes to the Orange.
If Louisville gets left out of the CFP then Louisville gets the Orange and FSU gets the Peach, Cotton or Fiesta Bowl.

Navy would need to win at SMU on Saturday for the Midshipmen to even be bowl eligible. Possible, but unlikely…seems like an odd prediction by Athlon. SMU is a 20 pt favorite. I’d love to see SMU vs Louisville in a New Years bowl. Little to no football history but our somewhat short lived basketball rivalry was fun while it lasted.

Honestly VT beating UVa is not a sure thing either. I won’t mind the Military bowl.
