5-6 Cal defeated 3-8 Standford yesterday.

Can we call this a pre-pre-season game?

I like my chances of seeing a Cardinal win in Palo Alto next year. Looking forward to a west coast trip to see Louisville visit Stanford.

Carolina has hosted both Cal and Stanford in the last 20 years or so. Both schools brought a surprisingly large number of fans to Chapel Hill.

I saw part of the game. The "staredown" was kinda cool but also kinda weird. Definitely a new tradition for the ACC.

I'm guessing a lot of those were alumni now living in the Research Triangle area or other places within driving distance (like Washington to Atlanta). I doubt if a large number flew from California.
