A win for the basketball team on Saturday spoiled the homecoming of a college basketball coach, next game vs FAU shows the dream for our program and how far we are away.
Football can still go bowling winning out and some help, will be nice November weather in the factory for the made for tv spectacle.
The Coaching Carousel is starting to spin as always I muse that we don't need to worry about the first merry go around but the 2nd one with Coach Creighton.
If we all paid agents could we all have awesome buy outs?

They don't need any help, they just need to win out and they are in.

I mean, somebody's gotta invite them to the bowl game, but 6 wins is definitely achievable.

They will get invited if they get to 6-6. Under the current format 6-6 guarantees (if you want to say officially or unofficially it doesn't matter) you a bowl game.

First, the MAC has eight bowl tie-ins and they not going to have eight bowl teams even if we get to 6-6. Second, last year they had to put 5-7 teams in bowl games becuase there weren't enough 6-6 teams (this could change, but it's trending that way this year). Third, two years ago there were TOO MANY 6-6 teams so what did they do...MADE UP A BOWL GAME OUT OF THIN AIR!

All that is to say, if they are 6-6 they won't get left out.

(Sidenote on the 5-7 thing; Eastern has to get to 6-6. If there aren't enough 6-6 teams and we are 5-7, we would not be a 5-7 team that would be in)

Really tough sell for a coach who in decade never won the MAC! He's 50-67 currently at EMU, takeaway the first two seasons then he's 47-46, not counting tonights game! Crazier things have happened though! He's not Leipold, or Fleck......Look at what Jerry Kill is doing at NMSU.......That's what they typically want to see.

Agree with an asterick.

IF there are not 82 eligible teams, NCAA has provision not obvious.

James Madison and JAX State are not eligible as they recently moved up from FCS. HOWVER, NCAA has indicated they will be eligible if bowls can not be filled with 6 win or better teams.

I would really like to see James Madison and Toledo in Detroit. It would be one of the more anticipated bowl games between two very good teams.d
