OK- here is every single post after the game by a JMU fan that is not in direct response to someone else's post. Keep convincing yourself that you are the classy one.

Congrats App. Awful way to lose, but you all earned it.

Close! Good game app State!

Really wish ESPN+ had better angles. I suspect the ball crossed the plane, but dang. That's tough. (nobody else from JMU agreed with him).

Helluva game!

Congrats AppSt. Y'all deserved it. Our play was really poor most game.

Congratulations App! Your team played a tough, foucused game. Another classic contest between the two programs. Already looking forward to next year!

Congratulations Mountaineers! Much deserved and hard fought win!!

Good game App State. Can't say I like the outcome, but it was a hell of a weekend.

Great game, App. The rekindling of this rivalry is off to a hell of a first two years.

Looking forward to many more App State games. The last four (2007, 2008, 2022, and 2023) were all epic games in their own way. It's actually amazing what these programs manage to do against each other.

Congrats App St. great game and the team played inspired and well.

We've been waiting and waiting to get back to hating you bastards instead of just cheering for you and pointing out that you're doing what we could and should be doing

I don't think the team was distracted or felt too much pressure. That's a disservice to App and them playing a great game to beat us. Troy is really good, but if App plays like that again, it'll be a very very good game....Saint, send over the info for where to donate my $25! I refuse to dig through threads to find it.

Congrats on the win App! You were the better team today and deserved it. 2 years in and we can already see how this is going to be an intense rivalry going forward. The two best supported programs in the Belt will be going toe to toe in recruiting, on the field and in the stands. Your guys showed up well in BFS. Loud and proud. Happy to call you Sun Belt brothers

I have to echo what many JMU fans have been posting on here and other social media forums: this is what we wanted from FBS football. Meaningful, hard fought regular season games that matter, against fan bases that actually care and support their teams. Awesome. App deserved to win, or better yet, JMU did not deserve to win. All I could say to the fans after the game was “congrats. You all deserve it”… all their chatter and whooping it up after the game was fine too. Fun. Fun. Fun day.

Congratulations App State on a hard fought victory. Yesterday truly exemplified what college football is about. From the early morning start and carrying my little girl on my shoulders through the crowds at ESPN College Gameday...From the the tailgates shared with JMU family and App State friends...To the capacity crowd that lived and died with every swing of the game. Truly a great day of memories. Cheers and look forward to being in Boone against next year.

Good game guys! This one really stings but an undefeated season was always gonna be a tall task. Can’t score 5 points through 3 quarters and expect to win. Good luck with the eagles next week

And finally, from Hart (the one fan who I admit can't help himself)

Congrats to crApp State for pulling off the road upset. The Dukes dug a big hole in the first half with careless turnovers and penalties allowing the Neers to take a 10-5 halftime lead and it could have been much more. Exciting comeback by JMU in the 4th quarter and an exciting OT finish, but JMU did not deserve to win and it would have felt slimy if they pulled it out in OT. I was impressed by the QB Yosef Aguilar.

He isn’t someone to gameplan against, but was a good game manager besides the intentional grounding safety in the first half. I thought he made the fundamental plays and kept his team with the momentum while getting different blitz looks all day. Not bad for a Juco pickup.

Not sure if the Dukes running was the lowest output against App all year, but it has been painful to see the regression this year as both OT’s have been lost for the year. Just not enough quality depth yet on a mostly FCS roster.

Hold on. Am I really being put on blast for wishing ESPN+ had better production? Tough crowd. I simply wanted to see where it crossed and couldn't tell in real time or on replay when the ball started moving. I don't dispute the call. Simply wanted a better angle.

That's JMU's production chief. Take your complaints to your AD.

Always wondered who's actually in charge of that. Is it different for ESPN/2/U games? I feel like the production is usually a good bit better there.

And again, I'm not complaining about the call. Never did. Just wanted cleaner angles.

In an alternate universe the two missed tackles would have helped. He's a strong runner.

Speaking of penalties, I hated that targeting call. The way the rule is I guess the call was right, but I just hate that intent doesn't matter. It wasn't a case of actually deliberately targeting the head, it was a case of like three or four dudes swarming a guy and bringing him down then one accidentally makes contact with the head as he goes down. Much easier to swallow when it's in your favor of course, but man I still always hate those.

Nowadays I really don't see many targeting calls that I do agree with honestly. I think players are very aware of the risk to both themselves and their opponent when they go to the head and it seems like I almost never see it happen in any kind of inexcusable way anymore.

There's no question his helmet made contact with the JMU runner, but it's hard to tackle without lowering your head to some degree. One thing I don't understand is why it is illegal to block someone below the waist, but you can dive at their legs to make a tackle.

I believe for those games they bring in their own crews and announcers. I'm not sure whether there would be additional camera angles though as the stadium may dictate where cameras can go. Someone more knowledgeable than myself may be able to answer. But with ESPN+ it's definitely home announcers and camera crews.

Yea that would make sense. But woof, our home games on ESPN+ this year were poor.

It is a lame rule and is enforced inconsistently. JMU has been on the bad end of targeting rulings more times than I can count and I didn’t like seeing the App State player get ejected.

I wish they would go back to the old spearing rule and stop ejecting players. 15 yards and an automatic first down is enough of a deterrent to make defenders change their habits.
You can see that even with targeting resulting in penalties AND an ejection you still have tackles that approach dangerous collisions. You simply cannot legislate it out of the game due to the speed of reaction time. It’s going to happen. When it does, penalize the team and keep players in the game.

App at JMU gets College Gameday
For as much as I hate having games I’ve already paid for (ESPN+) moved behind the NFL network paywall they really do up the production value big time. The biggest difference is the sharpness of the cameras they’re using and how they mic the game. Makes all the difference in the world.
